"this place is brilliant and amazing worth for what they get. we were included for a few nights with breakfast and had a wonderful time. the rooms were excellent. clean and well filled with refreshments for the pleasure in the hotel. they have en suiten, so no need to worry about sharing a bathroom with other lodgers on the morning. in the morning we went to the breakfast and were told we could order any form of English breakfast we wanted from full English to bacon butties with a coffee. this included veggie if not vegan options. we liked the place so much that we each came to eat again at night. the dinners were cost-effective and generous. I ordered a pulled pork in the first night and it was absolutely lush with the pork rich and damp. while they eat in pub, the pints in the offer are also plentiful. there is a hexen who returns to the pub in the evening, as they must be locked up for safety reasons, but that was completely acceptable to us. if they want to spend their time here after a long night outside in the early morning, then this will not remain to them as a place."

what a beautiful place. eating is excellent. the night in one of the three rooms. very pleasant and comfortable. highly recommended. we will stay there in the future.

Food still Ok here. I don't know why they are trying to charge an energy surcharge when beer and food prices have increased substantially and energy is on the way down?

what an excellent restaurant! we had a table for 7, to celebrate a birthday. the eating was amazing! filet steaks were perfectly cooked like the duck and venison. the service was on the spot! many thanks to all the staff for a perfect evening.

Such a lovely place to go and eat! We had one of the pods to eat in and it was so very very nice. Food was superb! Staff polite and friendly. Catered for an allergy and a “fussy one” We treated ourselves to desert … everyone opted for sticky toffee pudding and it did not disappoint.

Had a lovely meal at the Rose and Crown, Thurstonland. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and had excellent service all evening. The food was top notch very, very tasty and all at reasonable prices. Overall a great place for a meal or just drinks. Only down side is parking is difficult but totally worth the hassle. Be back soon.

This is our second visit. The first time Jackie had a very poor Thai curry. Today we decided to give the Rose and Crown a second chance. Jackie had asparagus warped in palma ham. Very nice. When the chap on the next table received his, it had a cheese sauce over it. NOT ours!!! Main course...... I had gammon. Tough as old boots!!!! How on earth do you overcook gammon? Jackie had chicken something. The chicken was inedible. (Cooked some days ago I suspect) The bar staff were wonderful. When I told them that our food was well below standard, they accepted this. It was as though negative comments were not uncommon. Sorry Rose and Crown. That's our last visit.
