Beautiful refurbishment of a lovely historic hotel. The food was very good and the location and ambience stunning. We will be returning soon. Celebration dinner and overnight stay with friends. Both dinner and breakfast of high standard. Accommodation excellent,enhanced by friendly and efficient staff; Caitlin,Chris and Gabriella and their colleagues. Rooms: Spacious well appointed bedroom and en-suite. Lovely and charming ! We were looking for a nice and quiet place to stay away from cities businesses. We enjoyed ourself thanks to Jess and the team ! Personnel is smiling and caring (extra points for welcoming chocolate bars). English breakfasts made our days Keep up with the good work ! Whilst the restaurant was busy. Service was extremely poor. As per usual with most restaurants they immediately ask you what you want to drink without even giving you a chance to even read the menu. Some waitresses stood around chatting whilst we were still waiting to order. With that aside the staff were friendly and polite. Long wait between courses. The food was good overall I would visit again, perhaps choosing a different time.

Visited since the revamp had a lovely breakfast with stunning views which made us book again for a family birthday (10 of us) was a great visit with lovely food and staff very friendly, visited again for tea this evening and was very disappointed in the quality of the food me and my husband had the lasagne which was very dry and burnt at the bottom very bland tasting and hardly any meat more sauce than anything, daughter had the smothered chicken and she said it was stringy and chewy, such a shame after having nice meals, this has now put us off coming back.

We had a very relaxing stay . There was a problem with the plumbing in our bathroom. This was dealt with extremely quickly and efficiently by Gabriella. The pub was very busy , but Gabriella was not cutting corners to sort the issue out . A plumber was there within the hr of us 1st reporting it. We had a very enjoyable meal . Lovely , friendly and attentive staff. Great food and wine. We were compensated for the problem in our room. This was very much appreciated. We could have let this incident ruin our evening, but we had a really enjoyable, relaxed time and this was all down to Gabriella. Thank you and we are looking forward to our next visit , because we are definitely coming back . Room...
