The Signal Pub - Speisekarte

At 14:30 on a Sunday afternoon the pub/restaurant was quite busy. Many families with small children. The food and atmosphere were good although the service time could be improved. Would recommend.

Really really nice service and such lovely decor. My chicken roast was also tasty. The treacle sponge pudding wasn’t so tasty and chip portions were small. One thing I’d say is the food is pretty pricey in general. They were really nice to sort out some other food issues by taking some items off of the bill. Up for coming back and trying other options on the menu

I was pleased to find that the menu had five vegetarian and one vegan option available. The vegetarian options could also be made vegan upon request. The staff member who took my order even contacted the restaurant owners to inquire about making the jackfruit sandwich vegan-friendly by switching the regular bread for flatbread. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.

What a lovely pub, opposite the Forest Hill Station. Tell your prayers before the Cross, it is the South Circle! Beautiful beer (Cold on a hot day! And wonderful staff. Try the app, but not the table number, small, but on the Qr code tile. So looked like a muppet, but just a moment! A good looking selection on the Food Specials Board. A very pleasant visit. Try it. Loved the ex industrial lamps above the bar the train departure board behind the bar is a real treat, even if I lacked one to have an additional pint!

Food was very disappointing, not worth the money at all. We ordered the chicken wings starter which was £9.00 and we only received 3 chicken wings which is really extortionate for what we got. The main courses were OK but nothing that impressive and completely overpriced. Also the food took ages to arrive and there were hardly any other customers ordering food at the time, we were told the steak took ages to cook but steak does not take long to cook so not sure why that was. Staff were nice and helpful though. I would come again for a drink and the pub itself is nice but do not reccomend for food.

I had some friends visiting from Nashville and wanted to treat them to some delicious pub food. Unfortunately, this place has definitely changed since the last time I visited. There were warning signs from the start, as many of the food options were not available. It seemed like there was only one server handling both drinks and food, so the service was incredibly slow. It took a long time for our food to finally arrive, and when it did, it came out at different times, making it difficult to enjoy our meal together. I was quite disappointed with my recent experience at The Signal. When I visited on a Saturday night, there was only one staff member working behind the bar, causing long wait times. Additionally, there was no chef on site, so no food was available. I ordered two pints of Diet Coke for £4 each, but they tasted like soda water because the syrup had run out. The bartender offered a 330ml bottle as a substitute for £8, which was not worth the price. It seems like the management may be facing financial pressure, as the overall standards have dropped. Great selection of gin and booze, some good house cocktails. Really good Sunday roast, even tho they forgot my Yorkshire pudding! The manager was there and was excellent. Great service, knowledgeable, attentive. Sadly, we went back for food on a Tuesday night and my dishes were disappointing. Tacos £6 each! and duck leg salad were all a bit cold and dry. And the ice cream was pretty lame and overpriced for £6.50. There was only 3 of us and the rest of the pub was quiet. The staff weren’t great. Unsanitary I hate leaving bad reviews because I know how hard people work but the service and cleanliness of this place is so SO poor. Ordered a burger with no bacon but was served one with bacon so I sent it back. I then clearly and unmistakably saw the waitress bring it back to the bar where the manager used her bare hands to remove said bacon from my burger. First of all, gross. That is so unsanitary and inconsiderate of people’s dietary requirements/allergies/religious beliefs. Second of all, she did so without even washing her hands first.
