The Sticklebarn Tavern

This was my first time visiting this restaurant, which I stumbled upon by chance during a walk from Chapel Stile. I tried the Avocado and toast and was very impressed. I will definitely be returning. The restaurant has a nice ambiance with plenty of outdoor seating, weather permitting, as well as a pleasant interior seating area.

Google said it closes at 9pm, so I got there at 6 assuming the live music would therefore start around 7, it started at 9pm by which time I was ready to leave. Nachos were weird, basically a bowl of tortilla chips with some sauce that tasted like macaroni cheese and a couple of jalapeños. Staff were great, great beers, location and decor awesome.

Highly recommend visiting.. we came for a hike to stickle tarn and came across this place . The staff are amazing. Very friendly and helpful . The food is incredible . We had a return visit this weekend. we decided to drive an hour across the lake District just to visit again and they didn't disappoint . Visited Lantys and we always do when we are up in Chapel Stlie but sadly the 1st time I've not given it 5 out of 5. Reason for this is whilst my Double Cheeseburger was delicious sadly my wife's Lamb Rogan Josh was a little disappointing as half the lamb was very fatty. The taste was lovely and the non fatty lamb was fab, we still love both Lantys and will definitely be back next time we are up here.

Great pub this one , in a stunning setting , ideal place for a drink /meal after a long walk up the Langdale , or just a great place to chill out, relaxed atmosphere , friendly staff , good food , stopped at a cottage behind the pub for a long weekend , went in all 3 days ,food , service and atmosphere great every time . Keep up the good work guys, will definitely be making a trip here again when anywhere near the area .

I used to frequent this place when it was a popular spot for mountaineers and hikers. I have fond memories of enjoying great evenings here after long days on the hills. However, upon returning after several years, I was disappointed to find that it has transformed into yet another cake and coffee shop, with beer as an afterthought. We found the evening food very good, the staff are very friendly, and the music (either live or recorded) good. No sports bar here but there is wifi. We visited on two days after days on the hills and noticed others that we'd seen. Very popular on a Friday Saturday. We tried their rum whisky and found it very drinkable. A couple of bottles went home with us. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. We'll be back, even if we're staying at the hotel next door.

The atmosphere at this restaurant is stunning and it's a place we always love to visit when in the Langdale Valley. However, our experience today was extremely disappointing. We felt like we were overcharged after paying over £28 for just one soup, a cheese scone, a pot of tea for one, a coffee, and a cake. The price of the soup wasn't displayed on the board by the bar, so be cautious when ordering. It's best to choose the cheapest item on the menu, sit at one of the picnic benches outside, and admire the beautiful views. Overall, we recommend finding another place to eat, maybe next door.

We trekked from Elterwater to Dungeon Ghyll over Stickle Tarn in challenging weather conditions, leaving us soaked, cold, and hungry. Despite the busy atmosphere at Sticklebarn, we were fortunate enough to secure a table. They have recently added more vegan options to their menu, so we enjoyed two Flower Flower wings, hash browns with fries, and two pints of Light Camp (unfiltered and unfined, making it vegan-friendly). The food was satisfying, filling, and delicious. The homemade hash browns were a standout. We were too full to try the vegan cakes, but they looked fantastic. We are impressed with Sticklebarn and will definitely come back during future trips to the Lakes. Speisekarte ansehen
