came to lunch with a group of 9 including children. they said they were short staff, but eating was nice and served in good time and the staff was very friendly, the walk on the hill

had a nice walk to the pub. only 5 minutes on the oxygen when we are there. (a steep hill to get there). think kerry helped us, she was beautiful. I wish we had dinner, the menu looked nice.

This local pub is fantastic, with a selection of great beers. The food is top-notch, particularly their renowned beef and ale pie with authentic gravy. The service is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming with cheerful regulars. A must-visit spot if you're in Matlock.

in any case a very dog-friendly pub, bobby dog had a warm welcome and a tasty bite before we were served. we both went for the homity pie that was recommended to us, I had drowned and chips while gerry chips and salat had. the meal was very full and the feeling that it was better with seasonal vegetables instead of chips, as the cake had kartoffel in the filling. a very pleasant and friendly pub, will definitely go back there.

My wife, daughter, and I decided to try this restaurant based on the positive reviews we had seen about the pies (and other delicious plates of food). It is a family-friendly pub where everyone seemed to be in good spirits. We ordered 2 pints of Timmy Taylor beer and a pint of coke. The landlord and his partner were very friendly and attentive. We all enjoyed homemade pies with chips and peas, topped with delicious gravy. It was nice to have plenty of gravy with our meal. We had one steak and ale pie and two steak and stilton pies, and they were absolutely delicious. The pies were filled generously with meat, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food.
