On a weekend away with friends and visited this evening. Really walk and chatty welcome, all of the staff we encountered were great. The food was delicious, two had pies and one had chicken, all spot on! Will definitely visit again and we highly recommend.

Beautifully presented Sunday lunch, with excellent homemade Yorkshire puddings, plenty of vegetables and lovely gravy. We were made very welcome and even though the portions are generous, we just had to try the homemade apple pie (one piece with two spoons!!! Speisekarte ansehen

This local pub is fantastic, with a selection of great beers. The food is top-notch, particularly their renowned beef and ale pie with authentic gravy. The service is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming with cheerful regulars. A must-visit spot if you're in Matlock.

We stumbled across this lovely little pub whilst looking for somewhere nice and quiet to have a drink and some food. We were not disappointed. The staff were lovely and friendly and the food was absolutely lovely. A lovely little place and I'd happily recommend and will definitely be back when in the area again.

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch here, homemade and everything was perfect. We were really well looked after and made to feel welcome, had homemade rhubarb pie and custard for dessert which was also delicious, portions were very generous- it took four of us to finish the pie!! A great old pub with an appealing interior and very friendly staff . The food was all home cooked and there was plenty of choice my partner chose the thai fish cakes and I had the king prawns ,both with garden peas ,chips and tartare sauce . Both dishes were excellent . The pub is dog friendly and even offers a doggy menu ! The top off our enjoyment it had Timothy Taylor's Landlord on draught .

Sometimes you walk into a pub and immediately feel a connection - The Sycamore is one of those places. It's a bit off the beaten path, so it's more of a local's pub, but even as visitors, we were warmly welcomed. The retro interior design added to the charm, bringing back many memories of family outings to pubs when I was younger. The Sunday roast was exceptional, with generous portions and delicious flavors. Our special request for "excellent roasties" was met without fail. Overall, it was a lovely visit and we only wished we could have stayed longer, but had to walk off the delicious food on our way back into town.

My wife, daughter, and I decided to try this restaurant based on the positive reviews we had seen about the pies (and other delicious plates of food). It is a family-friendly pub where everyone seemed to be in good spirits. We ordered 2 pints of Timmy Taylor beer and a pint of coke. The landlord and his partner were very friendly and attentive. We all enjoyed homemade pies with chips and peas, topped with delicious gravy. It was nice to have plenty of gravy with our meal. We had one steak and ale pie and two steak and stilton pies, and they were absolutely delicious. The pies were filled generously with meat, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food.
