"Our first visit today. I am a meat eater (reducing my intake of meat though) and the Mrs is a vegan and it is so difficult to find somewhere that serves a balance of food suitable for her and that will keep me interested too. There are so few places around East Lancashire/above Manchester so we were delighted to get a recommendation for Earthlings from our vegan friend. Simple elegant decor and a spotlessly clean premises, an interesting menu and specials board and very friendly staff. So...the food I went for the breakfast burrito, a beautiful purple coloured wrap with mushrooms, ‘Sosage’ pattie and whole earth baked beans, salad leaves and tomatoes on the side. I would have licked the plate clean had social etiquette allowed. The Mrs went for the Pumpkin seed, quinoa and Chia burger with slaw salsa and a few sweet potato cubes on the side from the specials board. I didn’t try hers, but she made approving noises and faces whilst she ate and said after how nice it was. Dessert was choc orange cheesecake with a scoop of vanilla Booja Booja ‘ice cream’ for me and Lavender and Lemon cheesecake with a scoop of berry sorbet for the Mrs. A cappuccino and an Americano brought the bill to around £33 money well spent and we will definitely be going back!"

"I recently had the best sushi at this restaurant! We visited this afternoon and the sushi was so exceptional that I couldn't wait to leave a five-star review! We ordered a mixed nigiri platter and a spider maki roll. The sushi rice was absolutely fantastic! It was unlike any sushi I’ve had before—no hard, dry textures or long travel taste. The combination of flavors in all the sushi was simply amazing. It was fresh, delicious, and offered great value for money! Unlike some other places, it wasn't overloaded with ingredients. We’re definitely interested in trying their teppanyaki dishes, but we knew we’d be too full to manage it today! I really wish this restaurant were right next to our apartment, as we only came for an event nearby. If I lived closer, I would visit all the time! We did wait for over 30 minutes to get our sushi, but it was absolutely worth it. It's clear this place is very popular for takeout and dining in. "What a lovely place! It oozes kerb side appeal, and has plenty of parking too. The pub itself was really well decorated and had such a friendly atmosphere, and we received a really warm welcome. We stayed in room 4 which was such a lovely room. It was so clean, spacious and well equipped and we just LOVED the bay window so pretty. It was really tastefully decorated and the bed was super comfy too. The food was delicious definitely worth visiting for. The duck spring rolls as a starter were full of meat and the Manchester Tart was just delicious. I'd definitely like to return to sample some of the other dishes available. Breakfast was well cooked and really tasty a really good portion size too. And as for the staff they were all so friendly and welcoming and really added to the character of the place. They definitely made our stay very welcoming. Thank you so much for our stay we've already spread the word and will definitely be revisiting for another stay in the future."

"Great food, haven't been in for many many years. Called in as passing on a Friday evening and very busy with must tracked full, but they squeezed us in. Staff all lovely and working very hard. Food was delicious! My 9yr old asked if it was possible to just have a poached egg as a starter and they accommodated her request "

"Went to go for food on a mid week evening, was not greeted by anyone. Found a table and when going to the bar to order, was told “we saw you come in and the table you’re sat at is reserved (there was nothing on the table to show it was reserved)” the condescending tone and approach by the young lad slumped behind the till (not even asking what I’d like to drink) was very off-putting when I was simply taking my mother out for dinner. We both agreed we will not be coming to the pack horse again having been coming here for a number of years. Very much negative impression of the team who clearly have no passion for keeping loyal customers. UPDATE Thank you for your reply Pack Horse Owner, it is clear to me that my review was not read properly as nothing related to what day we visited. Either your staff are behaving differently to you than when in front of customers or you’re oblivious to their behaviours. Also, dining in the conservatory was not offered, in fact the staff member behind the bar (sat on a stool) made no effort to even get up to locate a suitable table. The defensive tone of your reply tells me that you don’t see that anything needs improving despite me not being the only reviewer to point out the lack of customer service for the price point of your products/services. Your reply has made it very clear to me that the staff take the lead from the management in this instance."
