"Our experiences at the Turnpike in the past have been inconsistent, but we decided to give it a try for Sunday lunch. The staff was polite, but appeared uninterested. Unfortunately, my lamb roast was lacking in meat, the Yorkshire puddings were overly flaky and lacked substance, and the vegetables were undercooked and bland. For £13, I was hoping for more on my plate. Despite providing feedback to the staff, we were still charged the full price. Overall, we left feeling dissatisfied and unlikely to return. With some enhancements, the Turnpike could become a superior dining choice."

We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch at this restaurant. The food and service were excellent, and everyone left feeling very pleased.

Pretty good as usual but when we arrived we were told we could sit anywhere as it was empty, only to be told to sit somewhere else as we selected a table. Odd.

The service was very good with welcoming staff that looked after us well. The food was well presented and well cooked, I would happily recomend the Turnpike to others.

We were disappointed when the specials menu was brusquely taken from our table a with the explanation that it was sold out but delighted when our waitress persupersupersuaded the chef to prepare the meals we had already chosen from it . A splendid meal and enjoyable evening!
