Lovely out of the way pub. Good food which tasted homemade. The staff were all very pleasant. Would highly recommend it.

I visited this restaurant on Friday, June 18th, 2021. It is a very pleasant pub with delicious food and great beer. The service was excellent and the staff was cheerful.

Good prices, delicious homemade food and really nice staff and locals. You can have a full Sunday roast (chicken, beef or pork) and a dessert for £9.95 I’ll definitely come back! Speisekarte ansehen

Excellent traditional well-run pub tucked away off the main A57 in Gorton. Nice atmosphere. Fine selection of real ales and hearty and filling meals at very competitive prices. Highly recommended.

I visited Vail Cottage on Sunday, 11-10-20 and was impressed by the warm welcome from the staff. They were all very professional and working hard to ensure our safety. The food was excellent, and it was a pleasure to see old friends there.

My wife and I went out for Sunday dinner on June 20th, 2021 with two friends. It was a very relaxed atmosphere with no rush, and Geoff, Debby, and Rin worked hard to make sure all the guests had an enjoyable visit. The food was excellent and would be hard to top. The atmosphere in the pub was very pleasant and cosy, the staff were very helpful with the menu and service. The food and drink were excellent and we enjoyed every mouthful, right down to the last mouthful on the plate.....I would definitely recommend this place for further visits. Thank You to everyone at The Vale Cottage , you made this visit most memorable.

I visited this establishment with my father and we both had three courses. I had the Liver Pate to start followed by Steak Pie and Chips and Chocolate Sponge Pudding with Custard to finish, washed down with a pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord ale. My father had the Soup of the Day to start with, followed by Chilli Con Carne with Rice and Chips and Apple Crumble and Custard to finish, washed down with a bottle of Smirnoff Cider. I was delighted with the food and drink but also the professional way in which the staff took our food orders and delivered the food to the table and collected the empty plates and dishes afterwards. The Vale Cottage and I go back to 1972, when this was the best pub in East Manchester and beautiful women were always in attendance there heaven! My current wife turned me down when I asked her for a date there, back in 1975. I won in the end.... Fast forward to February 2020 and the character of the place has changed completely. The pretty young things have gone elsewhere but the character of the place is still quite strong, the walls packed with Gorton Memorabilia and the ghosts of my past, whispering in my ears... A pint of Timothy Taylor's Landord Ale was quite deicious a good omen. Rick decided to opt for the steak and kidney pie and it was packed with all the good stuff, hardly any run... Speisekarte ansehen
