I had a delightful dinner at this restaurant. The food was outstanding, earning a perfect score of 5, and the service was equally impressive, also a solid 5. The atmosphere was welcoming and enjoyable, making for a lovely dining experience. I highly recommend trying the Sea Trout and the Fillet of Sea Bass. Plus, there’s plenty of parking available!

This is a lovely pub with a warm and welcoming staff. The interior is tastefully decorated and creates a cozy atmosphere. While the main menu is somewhat limited, there were four additional main dishes on the specials menu. Our experience was pleasant, though nothing particularly extraordinary stood out. Dinner at the Village Inn this evening was a mixed bag of good and bad. Good lovely decor, tasty starters of goats cheese and red onion tart and whitebait, my husband’s main of gammon was a generous portion, delicious and well cooked. Now the bad or not so good five waitresses stood at the bar in front of our table chatting for most of our visit, main of gnocchi seemed a pretty confused dish that they’d just thrown whatever they could think of on the plate. Overall won’t be in any rush to return

I’ve been coming to thurlestone for over 35 years and to this pub which has seen good and bad years. Been visiting for the last 10 days and wow what a difference, the food has dramatically improved, the beer lines are better kept, the service was exceptional and to top it off with Becca finding us a table at late notice more than once as they were so busy. The Sunday roast is a bargain at £17 for the quality and size delicious Dartmoor beef. Really worth a visit and fair prices in this market. Thanks so much to all the staff for looking us so well. I highly recommend trying the Real Ale Battered Cod, which was superbly crispy and flavorful, paired perfectly with the skin-on fries. The Scampi Chips served in a cone were a fun and delicious twist, and the Village Inn Burger was simply outstanding. The service was impeccable, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout our meal. The atmosphere was vibrant and inviting, adding to the overall experience. Don’t miss out on these dishes!
