The Waterfront Cafe

Had a family birthday in the newly opened Conservatory looking over the river Ouse. We pre booked a table due to knowing at peek times they are full. The food, service was very good and the staff was great could not fault them.

Absolutely wonderful meal. Birthday meal with my sons, daughters in law and grandchildren. Service was really good and again I would reiterate wonderful meal, one of the best Sunday lunches I have ever had. Will be back for sure!

Four of us had a most enjoyable meal. The food was really well cooked and tasted fantastic. The service was friendly, unobtrusive and prompt. Our food arrived promptly and across the different dishes we all chose there was not one that didn’t exceed expectations. Thoroughly recommend!

Several visits later I finally write a review! Have visited with girlfriends, husband, and family. All have been catered for equally well. Good menu choice, welcoming atmosphere, good ambience, stylish interiors and spotless toilets. Looking forward to seeing what the extended seating looks like.

The newly designed conservatory is bright and airy, but unfortunately, the food remains uninteresting and bland. The menu has not changed in two years, and the lack of improvement is disappointing. The beautiful setting warrants a higher quality menu and top-notch food and service. It's a shame that many friends have had similar experiences. It's best to visit for the view rather than the food. We had a wonderful table overlooking the river for lunch on Saturday. The menu had a great selection and we decided to try the fish platter. It was presented beautifully with a variety of delicious fish. The service was excellent and fast. The coffee was hot and tasty. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to others. We are looking forward to trying the music night on the first Saturday of the month.

My husband and myself were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were. disappointed to find our usual eating place was closed, so we called in here on the off chance of having Sunday lunch. It was extremely busy but we were found a table straight away. The service was quick and efficient and the lunch was well cooked, tasty and very well presented. I had belly pork which was scrumptious and my husband had roast beef which he said was really good. We were too full for a pud so we finished with a coffee. The whole experience was lovely and very fitting for a celebration. We will definitely return both for Sunday lunch and through the week as we don’t live far away.

Simply poor service that is not good enough. It’s absolutely fine having waiter/waitress service when you sit down however it’s absolutely pointless if you don’t have enough staff on or have staff that actually service you. Pointless employment. For goodness sake we have just stayed at the caravan site attached and supported the local amenities like you do but the service was appalling. All 3 days of it. It wasn’t just either it was plenty of others also who were not happy with the service. I accept you perhaps do t like people getting up to the bar which is fine but you need to employ a single person then who just does drinks.
