Trenchers - Speisekarte

Came for a celebration lunch for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful.we had some special requests of which nothing was too much trouble..thank you.

first time in trenchers a magnificent building and fish and chips could not have been fresh or better cooked excellent service by maddy our waitress efficiently and so friendly large selection of meals and goat prices

Really disappointed. Wanted this place to be what I thought was overrated. Boy was I wrong. Outstanding food best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Lovely atmosphere staff are really nice. Will deffo be back to try the steak pie (it’s Good Friday I did the right thing! . Thank you guys!

They do GF fish and chips as they have a separate fryer. However as I discovered one rainy bank holiday Monday after waiting in the queue for a good 15 mins they don’t serve GF on bank holidays as they used the other fryer, so if you want GF fish and chips on a bank holiday you won’t get them.

Although not everything is available gluten free, most of the key menu items are. The GF batter isn't quite as crispy as the standard beer batter. On the plus side, they offer GF vinegar, although their GF tartare sauce is Heinz sachets, rather than the homemade tartare sauce offered to other guests. Overall, a great setting and good for GF fish and chips.

Where do I start?! We went for lunch today and it was delicious! It was a lovely treat, the food was lovely and the place was immaculate. Daphne the waitress (scouser) was so friendly. She made our boys laugh and was so friendly. I couldn't decide between two food choices and she helped. Would recomend going here! Thanks Daph and Trenchersnfor making our visit wonderful.

a supermarket fish chips restaurant. it is also great for children parties. we had a very nice birthday party for 6 years. many options to choose from. I don't like a diligent so I was pleasantly surprised with floured fish. the location is beautiful and they have live entertainment at the weekend and in the evening. we really enjoyed their classic jazz. definitiw deserves the 5 stars!

We have visited Whitby many times and it is one of our favourite fish and chips restaurants. The fish and chips were great, but the service less so. The restaurant was not busy. Quite a few tables half cleaned. Staff no where to be seen. There only seemed to be one person running round. Every time he ran past our table he apologized and said he would be right with us. From sitting down to having our order taken took for ever. When the food arrived it was fine. Having finished again to have the table cleared again took ages. I ordered a dessert. When our bill arrived the dessert and extra drinks were missing from the bill.

I was extremely disappointed with my recent visit to a restaurant in Whitley Bay. I had previously praised this restaurant to everyone I knew before Covid hit. However, due to various reasons, I hadn't been able to return for the past four years. I was looking forward to enjoying some fish and chips, but unfortunately, the fish was bland and tasted like it had been frozen, and the chips were only warm, not hot. Both my husband and I had the same experience with our respective orders of haddock and cod. Additionally, the parking situation was a nightmare.
