Stayed here for 3 nights. Stunning room. Comfortable bed. Great shower and lovely breakfast. What more can you ask for. Staff very nice and helpful. Will definitely be back. Thankyou.

Just had a wonderful 2 night . The hotel was clean warm and the staff very friendly, breakfast was good and kept us going all day, the bar was very welcoming and drinks are reasonably priced.

Overall, this restaurant is just average. It has a great central location, a decently sized room, and a comfortable bed. However, we experienced a long wait to check in, a tiny car park for the size of the hotel, and seemed understaffed with long waits in general. There were limited food choices, despite there being lots of options available.

Lovely food and very friendly staff- it’s definitely the place to stay when visiting in and around beautiful Bala. On a trip to wales we thought we’d find somewhere nice to eat locally to where we was staying. After reading the menu on the website we decided to go here. All il say is the menu on the website is completely different to what’s in the hotel. A tiny light bites menu plus a specials board. I ordered a chicken curry which according to the website should have been extra chips or naan bread for £1.50 extra. After looking at the receipt we was charged full price for these. When the meal came out I had the chips but no naan bread as they didn’t have any left, but we wasn’t told this until I’d finished the curry. As locals we were not visiting for a stay but for a meal and drinks and keep returning here as a great place to sit and watch life go by, especially in the summer as since the Hotel has been taken over by new management, it is much improved with seating outside the front looking onto the High Street and a lovely place to sit, also at the rear as well which is something of a suntrap in summer and great for outdoor drinks and food. In the winter, nice just sitting looking out enjoying some good food from an extensive menu or enjoying a nice drink which are now more reasonably priced as to compared when this place was run by either Marstons or Brains. Would not recommend! The menu online looked lovely for our friends birthday so we were looking forward to it. Only to be very disappointed- 0/4 meals correct! I ordered a chicken and bacon Caesar salad with the dressing on the side. Out it came swimming in dressing- you couldn’t even see the lettuce! I apologised and sent it back. After working in hospitality I have never complained! Well then out came a mixed leaf salad with some chicken. No bacon, no iceberg lettuce, no Parmesan, no croutons, no dressing. I complained to the male waiter with a pony tail- who had the customer service of a dead fish- who took it away and brought back the EXACT same dish (with the picked out onion on the side...

Looking for a dog friendly place to eat or stay? This is the best we’ve ever seen! Parking is at the back. The White Lion, Bala has a Welcome bag of goodies for each canine visitor, plus a variety of treats and water bowls always available. The staff MUST have been chosen for their love of dogs, because every one of them interacted enthusiastically. We did not meet the Head Chef, but experienced her work at the Carvery on Sunday. I had the vegetarian option instead of a meat, which was a lovely, crusty pie with chickpeas and vegetables in a yummy gravy.
