"The evening was spoilt due to our waitress it getting our order correctly. One person orders a large bottle of white wines we got a bottle!!!! We were a table of six, 2 sea bass, 1 pork, 1 gammon, 1 scampi and 1 steak pudding. What arrived was 3 sea bass, 2 steak puddings, 1 gammon after prompting we got the pork but we had to wait 20 minutes for the scampi as this had been missed off the order so had to be cooked fresh whilst the rest of the of the party ate theirs. This made 1 of our party feel bad which is not acceptable. Desserts were ok as we had obviously complained, but the waitress did admit she could not read her own writing!!! When the bill arrived, they gave us 20% discount and did not charge for the scampi, but they did charge for a full bottle of wine and three sea bass!!!! They blamed the till an electronic item that has to be operated by a person It’s not the equipment is was sure,y the operator!"

Great Beer, average roasts. Vegetarian options limited and the Quorn roast as a substitute for the nut roast was very disappointing very plain and tasteless. Other roasts were average. Lovely location, great range of beers and overall ambience great.

wonderful pub with traditional British pub dug. because this pub is next to the woodfordes brewery, I really recommend on brewery tour first. fascinating insights into how the ales are brewed. when you book the tour, you will also get the ales of their choice and get a discount from their meal. fantastic

It was what was probably busy as you would expect on a Sunday afternoon so service was still good but with all these things you need to keep a good balance, so was not surprised that there wasn’t a member of staff forever circling the table, but everyone was really friendly and coped well. I left a good tip which in my mind was thoroughly deserved.
