Went to Ythanview for a funeral tea it was absolutely lovely after such a stressful day this was just what we all needed.Friendly helpful staff food was great price was very reasonable. Would highly recommend.

went here for a meal , and as per usual never fail to deliver , the food is amazing , good portions, the prices are good , the staff are so friendly , polite , chatty etc , the atmosphere is lovely , we go every 2nd week for a meal here there is nothing you can fault with it .

This restaurant is a hidden gem. We stopped in for lunch while dropping off a horse and found easy parking across the road for our lorry. The specials were all tempting and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly. If we are passing by again, we will definitely be back.

We visited this restaurant in 2019 and found it to be charming and cozy. However, our experience today was quite disappointing. The staff was unwelcoming and the service was subpar. The food was mediocre, with poorly cooked vegetables and unappetizing green beans. Unfortunately, we do not plan on returning.

Cannot fault the service or the food here whatsoever. Have been before but not for a while .Decided to go forvthe Shepherds Pie special and it was delicious. My wife went for the Jays Curry and thoroughly enjoyed it .My sister went for the monkfish special and said it was excellent. The Ythanview was as good as ever and we are looking forward to returning in the near future.First Class

We visited on the back of a recommendation from a work colleague and we weren’t disappointed. Having been seated beside the cosy fire we ordered 4 mains from the specials and main menu. The quality of produce and portion sizes were great and very flavoursome. The bubbly owner even talked us into ordering 4 desserts with the strawberry Eton mess living up to its billing. Great value for money and this first visit definitely won’t be our last one great home cooked food

A midweek treat. Steak night at the 'View ' is quite something, definitely book ahead. Shared a starter of Chicken liver pate, just a wee suggestion, melba toast would be better and h/m sauce please, otherwise excellent. We had to have steaks, so a rump and a rib eye were ordered m rare. Both steaks were cooked to perfection, maybe a longer rest could have helped as they cut easier as we ate. Home made chips are such a treat these days, but great to see..Pepper sauce added a kick of flavour. Really struggled to finish the meal and a pudding was impossible. Booked this hotel for the specific trip to photo Red Squirrels, Upon arrival Jay, his staff and the locals all made me welcome. Conversation flowed and the Talisker Whiskey tasted divine. Jay took time out to show me some red Squirrel hot spots, even getting out a OS map to point out the exact location. Once talking to customers it was soon apparent that the area was the right place to see this fascinating creatures. Early door adventures out to the woods did not disappoint, as long as you were quiet portable hide and seat) they came within 2 meters of you and simply got on with their day.
