"I visited here today with an elderly friend of mine. It was my first time visiting but I had heard alot about the place from others. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and was packed out, we were very lucky to find a table which was the last one that was free. We both wanted a lunch option but my friend wanted something off the special board, it was 1140 and they don't serve these meals till 12 so we decided to wait before ordering which was fine with the staff. We both had a pot of tea which came in a lovely white teapot and was served with a teacup and saucer. The tea was lovely and of a good quality. 12oclock soon came round and I went and ordered out meals. I had the jacket potato and cheese and my friend had a lamb kofta burger and chips. We weren't waiting long before the meals arrived. They were presented on big white plates and there was plenty of food. My jacket potato was cooked to perfection and came with salad and a homemade coleslaw which was very creamy. The lamb kofta burger was served with chips and salad. The chips were very chunky and not greasy and were cooked to perfection. The staff here are very attentive and friendly even though they were ran off their feet. Tables quickly filled up when people left so I could quickly tell that it is a very popular establishment. Everything was very clean and they did a good variety of food on there menus. I will definitely be going back but next time I will indulge in the afternoon tea which looked amazing. Especially the homemade scones which were the biggest I'd ever seen. I highly recommend this place lunch and even though we didn't have the breakfast menu I imagine that the breakfast on offer will just be as good."

"I visited for brunch on Sunday 3rd September with a couple of friends. Their previous experience was good. This was quite the opposite! The attitude of the server was poor but she could have had a bad morning. We sat in the conservatory section and were handed the menus and a drinks order was taken. A few minutes later the server came back to take our food order. I asked for Eggs Benedict and requested that I swap the ham for streaky bacon. The server said she would ask the chef but it would cost more. One of my friends ordered the Salmon Stack and the other Poached Eggs on Sourdough Toast. When the food arrived the problems arose. My friends poached eggs had yolks that were over cooked and the whites looked as though they had been whisked and as a result held a lot of water. She sent that back. A second attempt by your chef I use that term loosely didn’t fare any better. The yolks may not have been over cooked but you could wring the water out of the toast. It was a soggy mess and inedible. This was subsequently returned. My other friends Salmon Stack seemed to be devoid of the key item Salmon! It was literally a potato cake. My eggs Benedict were terrible. Again the eggs were over cooked and had been placed on lettuce on top of the muffin. As a result of having hot eggs placed on the lettuce it became limp and slimy. Around the dish the Chef had added a balsamic reduction swirl which did nothing to enhance the food, or the presentation. Again the eggs hadn’t been drained properly and this destroyed the muffin which was, like my friends toast , a soggy mess. The streaky bacon that I paid an additional £2 for was undercooked and inedible. The member of staff who cleared the table never checked back to see if everything was okay or asked about the food I left. This was probably the worst brunch I have ever had. Your Chef ? needs some serious training in cookery basics."

"13 of us arrived at 6.30 and we were greeted with a surprised look even though we booked the table 2 weeks before. I was asked to pre order the food and send it through via email. I sent the email early that morning. We were handed a few menus and it soon became clear they hadn 't had our pre order. The waitress said she would go and check if they had the pre order. We then had to ask for a drink at about 6.50 when someone from the bar came over to ask what we wanted. The lady who served us made us feel like we were an inconvenience. When the drinks finally came, I still wasn 't sure whether the kitchen had received our pre order. I asked the waitress and she said Oh yea we 've got it . The food came after 7.30. It was around 7.45. We had 5 hungry children in our group and this is why we booked for 6.30 (and pre ordered). The restaurant wasn 't busy at all so we were confused why there was such a delay. One of the children knocked over her glass of water and the waitress was asked 3 times for a refill. She didn 't get one. At all. Whilst we are talking about drinks, we were not offered another drink after the first one. None of us had a drink with our meal. We asked the waitress for a drink in the end and she said I 'll get someone from the bar . By the time the lady from the bar came, we were about to ask for the bill so we didn 't bother. The food was ok but no one checked if it was and we weren 't offered any sauce. The vinegar was on the table but it had run out. We were out to remember my dad as it would have been his birthday and even though we had a lovely evening spending time with our family, the service was shocking and we wished we hadn 't tried somewhere new. Really disappointed!"
