The Village Inn - Speisekarte

Simply excellent from the moment we arrived. Land lady and other members of the catering team could not have been more attentive. Food, we had the burgers, wings and meat balls, was excellent also.

I haven't visited this restaurant in a while due to lockdown, but it's underwhelming and could use a thorough cleaning. I can only imagine the state of the kitchen. I didn't try the wine, but I hope it's not as bad as the service from the owner.

A lovely evening so me and hubby decided to walk to the Village inn as hadnt been in a while and the Carribean menu appealed to us.Food good and authentic, and Neve the waitress was so pleasant and attentive ,she is a credit to the pub ...will be back! Speisekarte ansehen

We were let down by the quality of our meal. Although the starter was delicious, the main course was terrible and neither of us could eat it. The service was slow, but we acknowledge that there are fewer staff working post COVID. However, it took 45 minutes to bring our drinks.

We met up with my daughter here as it was a half way house for us. We all enjoyed our food. I had sausage and mash and it was delicious. The mash tasted nicer than the usual you get with pub grub. My daughter and husband both had burgers which they both really enjoyed. I would definitely eat here again if we find ourselves in this area again.

My wife, friend, and I had a delicious Sunday lunch at this restaurant. We were delighted to find a tasty vegetarian option on the menu. All of the food was freshly prepared and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that the ingredients were locally sourced. Despite my wife's concerns about the current pandemic, she felt reassured by the staff who had put in place all necessary safety measures to create a safe dining environment. We came here by chance on a dreary but fairly mild day. The pub looked good enough from the road but the car park is very small and there is an overflow car park with frightening looking steps. The entrance we found was around the back and did not look very welcoming. There was a fire in the bar but it was not lit. It was a dull January day and a fire was essential. Not much of a welcome there. The wine was ok and a good price. That is all I can say about this place. I shall not be rushing back because I never return to places with an unlit fire in the the middle of winter.

A large party of us booked in for Christmas dinner. It’s a lovely pub and there was a lovely atmosphere in the bar area. We went round to the dining area and got seated, the tables were done up lovely. If there was any music on it was quite low, the atmosphere was a bit weird to be honest, didn’t feel very Christmassy even though it did look the part, perhaps it was us but it didn’t feel like a Christmas meal get together. We had varied starters, I had a terrine which I did not like however others liked their starters which were a seafood cocktail and I think soup. I took my Mother and my wife out for a lunch at the Village Inn as the reviews looked good .. We got there about 12.45 and apart from one other couple it was empty. we sat down and the barmaid took our drinks order and they arrived ok..At this point we ordered our meals .. After 1/2 an hour I needed another drink but the barmaid had gone outside for a ciggie break so I had to wait for her to return. Still no sign of the meals after 50 minutes so my wife asked the barmaid when they would arrive and she checked with the 'Chef ' who informed her they were ready. I had ordered a mixed grill ..
