"Visited today for lunch after reading a recent review about the high quality of food on offer. We were not disappointed! It was superb. There were 3 choices on each of the courses with one vegan option on each course. I had chicken fricassie which was the most delicious chicken dish I've had for a very long time. The meat was so tender, it fell away from the bone; the mushroom sauce was deliciously tasty - it wasn't over seasoned. My OH had tofu wok which he really enjoyed. Both were served with rice and runner beans. The starter was a dish of 2 types of melon one of which was watermelon, with feta. We didn't think it sounded great but we were very wrong. It was served with a dash of vinaigrette made with a light oil, a tiny bit of honey and toasted flaked almonds and was surprisingly interesting. All the flavours worked so well together. For dessert OH had the cheese plate with 3 different types of cheese which he loved but it couldn't have been better than my raspberry Eaton mess which was particularly good as it wasn't overly sweet. All for €18 each AND it was all organic! We sat outside in the courtyard which was a very pleasant area. The ambiance throughout was of calm. No background music, no clattering noises or shouting from the kitchen area. It was a little oasis of refined lunchtime dining, The service was impeccable. The young man who served us was very impressive and able to tell us what ingredients were used in the vinaigrette. It goes without saying that the high standard of food and service were also reflected in the high levels of cleanliness throughout. We only wish we'd discovered this place sooner and will be back again as soon as I can trust the OH's arm"

"I went to restaurant as a suggestion from my B&B host in Carcassonne on my final night in the town. It is in the Place Carnot (town square) and was a lovely sight to have dinner at, I recommend sitting outside to get the best experience. I was greeted fairly quickly and the waitress spoke average English after asking her in French and was happy to speak it.The restaurant has many options to pick on the menu from individual dishes to set menus, I went for the set menu as there is decent choice and not just the typical dishes such as cassoulet. For starter was the serrano ham and bread which was a very generous portion of both ham and bread. The main was duck, chips and salad (the menu lets you pick half or a whole portion of duck). This was beautiful, although I was not asked how I wanted it cooked but luckily it came out medium which is what I would have asked for. Finally for dessert I had creme brulee which just went down a treat and never again will I buy English creme brulee!This all came to ~£27 which also included a carafe of wine and coffee.All in all, to have such a large 3 course meal with wine and coffee in the middle of a beautiful town centre I really could not fault the experience. It came hand in hand with good French service in that I was given plenty of time between course to relax, I could not recommend a better restaurant in that town centre than this one!"
