"What a gem! As we wandered around the castle we got peckish. We found this place tucked away, off the courtyard, in the centre of the castle. Diners are seated in a small, enclosed courtyard, this unfortunately obscures any views of the ramparts or keep.We had the set menu, ordering from the selection of starters, mains and sweets. I ordered goats cheese tart, as did my wife. We received one goats cheese and a liver salad. We were going to raise it as an issue but then my wife tried it, loved it and ate it! I had the Cassoulet for main, very, very good. My wife had chicken, also very good. We both had lemon tart to finish, stunning. With a couple of beers, 50 Euro (ish) Service was attentive, we were the only customers, the bill arrived as we were finishing sweets! However I will forgive them this, we were the last diners, they were obviously shutting and the food was lovely. Would we go again? Maybe, but only for the food."

A small but tasty menu. Our waiter had a high knowledge on gluten free food, and she spoke English very well.

Nice restaurant with very cheerful service. The set menu was different from the other places - it actually had fish on it! The food was mostly good and the house wine (in a 0.5l "pichet") was fine.

Service with a smile and a great welcome, followed by delicious food. Loved the simplicity of the menu and almost licked the dessert dishes, they were so good. Chocolate mousse and Creme brûlée to die for.

Just off the beaten track in the City. This was my best meal of the trip. The 16 Euro menu was excellent value, Foie Gras followed by Fish of the day. Even the house wine was lovely, which is something I don't say often.

Restaurant well placed in the city, by the ramparts. The cassoulet was excellent, a little while waiting for the kitchen but at least make home. The price quality report was really great. Service: Dinner in Type of meal: Lunch

As a group of friends we had an overall fantastic experience here. The restaurant was quiet, I don't know why! It made for an enjoyable evening of fine dining. If you enjoy food and alcohol, this is the place for you. Unpretentious and friendly. Well done guys! I hope to see you again in the future.

Had a great experience at the restaurant. Service was very friendly and helped us pick the best meals.only negative comment is even though the steaks were cooked well, the quality were just ok, lots of gristle. Desserts were awesome, so were the potatoes. We sat upstairs and found the environment perfect for families with kids.

We were looking for a pleasant outdoor spot for a light lunch & this really hit the spot. It was small & intimate & away from the raucous crowds. The resident cat & a glass of Limoux (local fizz), kept us entertained while we awaited our home made Cassoulet, properly baked, not reheated in a microwave, was superb. Washed down with the house red, a good local Minervois. The staff are very friendly, my wife spilt some of her vin rouge, the chef ended up refilling both our glasses & we were also offered a complimentary Crème Citron too. The toilet was spotless too. Highly recommended.

"Visited today for lunch after reading a recent review about the high quality of food on offer. We were not disappointed! It was superb. There were 3 choices on each of the courses with one vegan option on each course. I had chicken fricassie which was the most delicious chicken dish I've had for a very long time. The meat was so tender, it fell away from the bone; the mushroom sauce was deliciously tasty - it wasn't over seasoned. My OH had tofu wok which he really enjoyed. Both were served with rice and runner beans. The starter was a dish of 2 types of melon one of which was watermelon, with feta. We didn't think it sounded great but we were very wrong. It was served with a dash of vinaigrette made with a light oil, a tiny bit of honey and toasted flaked almonds and was surprisingly interesting. All the flavours worked so well together. For dessert OH had the cheese plate with 3 different types of cheese which he loved but it couldn't have been better than my raspberry Eaton mess which was particularly good as it wasn't overly sweet. All for €18 each AND it was all organic! We sat outside in the courtyard which was a very pleasant area. The ambiance throughout was of calm. No background music, no clattering noises or shouting from the kitchen area. It was a little oasis of refined lunchtime dining, The service was impeccable. The young man who served us was very impressive and able to tell us what ingredients were used in the vinaigrette. It goes without saying that the high standard of food and service were also reflected in the high levels of cleanliness throughout. We only wish we'd discovered this place sooner and will be back again as soon as I can trust the OH's arm"
