a beautiful building with a great atmosphere. the service is great and eating well. I wish they had no so short time to lunch, although it's pretty tight at midday if they want to make a afternoon. with friends like us. cocktails are also good, although a little expensive.

We started in bar which didn't disappoint, the cocktails and staff in there were amazing goingbabove and beyond. They have upgraded staff since last visit. Then we went through to the bank fir dinner. Lovely food, huge portions and the cocktails continued. be back. Staff amazing in there too. Thanks for a great night.

meet here with our training partners gold coast of us made this night to remember, menu was very varied, appetizers and net were probably the best we had, woman had lamm and I had the filet, just served great. Beverage menu...has put on it and what made with the great service for a relaxed enjoyable night. we recommend to the colleagues to use even during their visit.

my friend and I took the car on Saturday afternoon. the carvery was great (although pre-located, instead of self-service), with beautifully cooked meat and vegetables. the service coil hqve was better, with attentive, helpful staff. also the buildings were really good,...with a gips blanket from the century, the employees could explain everything about it. I'll eat there again when I'm in barnstaple.

My son and I visited for dinner whilst staying at the premises hotel, Royal Fortesque. The ambience is lovely. The menu is loaded with crowd pleasing dishes. We obviously can only appraise main courses. The gourmet burger was in a league of it's own...with a superb steak grind and the fajita was better than any Mexican restaurant that I know. Beers from the bar were also spot on. The menu pricing is also very reasonable. If there is a factory anywhere producing charming, perfect waitresses, then this restaurant must have a supply contract. A perfect Sunday evening meal in Barnstaple !

Booked twice in a week of each other. Sunday lunch which we all thought was very well cooked and very well presented with plenty of good choices to be had. We did have the booking for midday, so the food was freshly put out., which...is always best for a carvery. Staff were very friendly and was lots of staff to assist the customers, with no hassle about any help, as needed. The cost was very reasonable at with desserts. The next visit was a week later for an evening meal, which was equally, just as good, with some of the evening meals being really delicious, with some of the starters being a wow factor! Definitely go again

I took my best friend out to lunch at your hotel today. As a big fan of Brend hotels and having eaten many times at yours's and loved it plus having spent Christmas at the Imperial and eaten there lots, I was convinced it would...be good. I was so disappointed. We had the carvery ..the sausages lacked flavour and were greasy, the roast potatoes were soggy and greasy, the cauliflower was rock hard and I don't mind al dente but this was hard with a capital H. There was no cheese flavour ? The whole meal lacked seasoning and yet there was no salt and pepper on the table. Also no crackling with pork. What a shame.. granted it was a Monday night, but this establishment was obviously having a hangover from the weekend. When ordering a **** Mary, was advised they can’t do that, but they could do a spicy tomato juice…. The Indo chicken balls were awesome...as a starter and a very clever play by the chef. But the steak chimchurri bowls were decidedly very average, and probably worse since we were told that it wasn’t sirloin tonight but fillet. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed after our meal on Saturday night. we had booked for us as soon as we set ourselves and ordered our drinks, the food was laid before us! eating a bit early, because the fajitas do not advertise as if served. that was cold. the burgers came and they were cold. the only warm part was the chips. the workers seemed very unhappy in the jobs, only to ask mayonnaise was a lot annoyed!
