"the Amiens district of the Saint Leu district is adorned with a nice canal, and along the canal there is a range of tourist trap restaurants. If you came here, you don't really expect a food worthy of a michelin star - I was probably not. this restaurant however offers an honest cuisine to god and at very reasonable prices! we walked in the alley, looked at all the restaurants and when I'm in a situation like this, I try to look for a restaurant with some kind of speciality. My wife is crazy with roast potatoes, and this one seemed to specialize in it, so we found ourselves here. I ordered potato stuffed with a chicken cream and leeks, my wife ordered potatoes with ham and raclette cheese. They immediately brought a salad, which was correct - an honest food like everything else and bread - but no butter; seems life French are very precise about when you are allowed to have butter in your bread, and it is not before eating. In about 10 minutes (which for roasted potatoes is fast as lightning), we were served our main dishes. My plate contained: - 3 massive halfs of giant roasted potatoes (size of my open hand) top- butter with chives in a small cup- a toast with cheese brie on- a dish with burned cream that they apparently forgot to put under the slump to make a crustThe potatoes were definitely not fresh of the day, they returned and out of the oven for at least two days. not too bad however, the sauce was so much that I could barely touch the potato below. The sauce was correct. It was certainly not freshly prepared and I had seen the microwave too many times. The chicken had a rubbery texture and was dry, and the pear had a slightly sour taste, as if it came from a can of can instead of being fresh. nothing was jumped before being thrown into the sauce, and it was huge pieces of pears rather than the pear cut as we could expect. The brie on toast was great, don't think we can ruin it anyway. The burnt cream had a very intense butter taste, and I couldn't finish it, but it wasn't bad. the woman's plate had; - 3 halves of roasted potatoes, of which only 2 were covered with cheese and ham. not a bad thing however, she wanted mainly a common roast potato, and she had it-. Sour cream in a small cup- butter with chives in a small cup- the same cream I had. Her potatoes were dry, even older than those I had. cheese and ham were excellent, and she still liked it. with chives butter and sour cream, it was a nice dinner for her. She ate the cream completely and enjoyed it. I'd say that everything was pretty average. Could we have had better food in one of the other restaurants in this alley? I doubt it. If you're a potato lover, it can be worth the detour if you're hungry. food is abundant and the price is correct."
