"the workers at the whately hall hotel make a great work under extremely difficult circumstances. the historical building in which the reception rooms, which are bar and the restaurant, is a large space and is very well maintained. everything was immaculately clean and there were plenty of signs, sanitisers and masks. her service was friendly and helpful, and we were well looked after. the food was delicious and the drinks were cheaper. there were other customers, but there are enough rooms that were never close to what we appreciate, and the team has a great task in managing this. I would definitely visit again."

Nearly empty is not a good recommendation. Average quality but with attentive service. Having paid in advance I did not have much choice.

standard pub fayre. nice, but nothing really fantasies. quite expensive for what it is. we didn't eat here if it wasn't included in a voucher.

we were the only people in the restaurant so I wouldn't say there was any ambiente except that one of our party described it as eating on the marie celeste. the waitress was very pleasant and attentive, but our eating took almost an hour to arrive after the order we thought was too long. When that came, it was very nice.

beautiful features in an old building, with adjoining winter garden. had an excellent eating with social distancing between the diners. the staff was very attentive and nothing was too much annoyed and helped to make a nice evening. breakfast the next morning was plentiful and cooked to order. but coffee was a bit bland for my love

we were recently at the whateley hall hotel and on Sunday evening we booked for dinner in the restaurant. the food was very good, the service was also good. the weinstock was somewhat limited, but there was a high time at the...day before, so that the reason could have been. likes the features in the restaurant as this is an old building and the features have been well maintained and it is also beautiful and warm in there.

eating was really substandards. my man medium-sized rare steak was well made and his kartoffels saw and tasted recycled, my prawn skewer was undercooked and the various dressings on the plate beat too much vinaiigrette on the salat leaves, combined with sweet chili on the garnel and tzatziki as well as was really an overfall on the sinne. the waiting staff did their best to make a good job and the garden is beautifully sunny and spacious, which is important to this time. we will not be back. I could cook a better quality meal at home for 1/6 of the price.

I booked for a special family reunion in the afternoon tee. it was great so much that we had to ask for a box to take away everything we could not do. one of our party was gluten-free and it was the best gluten-free sandwiches and...cannaea that she had ever served a special, well made cook for it! we were looked for by renz, I'm sorry if I understood the wrong) but he was wonderful and he even helped my mother the steps to the car in the rain! we had a nice afternoon with cousins from the country and we couldn't find a better place. I would recommend the afternoon.

"I’m frustrated and annoyed with booking a romantic meal for our year wedding anniversary, with the current pandemic and work commitments it made a change to make an effort and be excited to visit the boxing hare as the reviews had been excellent. We...were seated in the garden room, next to a family who were on first name terms with the waiting staff and who were so loud I thought I was at a Chelsea match! We received complimentary glasses of champagne and we placed our order for starters and main which were excellent however I felt rushed with the service, as much as I tried to have a conversation all I could hear was this family at decibels to which enough was enough usually I would say something, however rather than ruin there evening I asked for us to be reseated to which the waiting staff were in agreement that they were loud! So why place us next to them? We were given a table in a different part of the pub still busy with other diners giving respect to one another. The table given I was advised I had as it was reserved? I placed dessert order and two lattes with baileys followed by the bill! The bill was a tad on the steep side for a gastro pub perhaps the prices are based on the price of fuel to fill the owners Bentley Overall felt it was a rushed evening disappointed with the seating arrangements,I won’t be returning as I felt what was important to us wasn’t important to the Boxing Hare I’ve had better evenings at The Falkland Arms Great Tew, The Great Western Aynho"
