"I’ve spent 20 years coming to the bars and restaurants in Javea and it’s always been a decent experience. Tonight we tried Atalaya for the first time in a while and it was horrific. Waiting 30 mins for our drinks, which arrived with no apology at all. Then the steak….half the thing was pure fat. I asked for a new one €19 for a slab of fat is not ok) and the owner came over and aggressively asked what’s wrong. I explained my steak was half fat, and compared to my brother’s steak the same one as me) mine was clearly an bad cut with half the meat. He told me that no piece of meat is the same and started shouting. He said if I wanted another I’d have to wait 45 mins as they were busy. It takes 5 mins to cook a medium rare steak, I’ve already waited close to an hour for it. He said to me that in that case I shouldn’t eat anything and took it away. Next round of drinks took another 45’mins to come and then another 40 mins for them to come and take our money. Never going back. Arrogant owner and awful staff. Avoid at all costs."

En primer lugar dar las gracias a Daniela y Cristina que fueron las personas que nos super atendieron en la mesa y en segundo lugar destacar la comida que pedimos, muy bueno sobre todo el arroz del senyoret y sorprendente la carne a la piedra. Pasando un día de playa con mi familia decidimos ir a comer unos unos entrantes ,pulpo a la brasa, colas de gambas rebozadas con salsa agridulce y picante, ensalada atalaya , estaba todo buenísimo , pero mi sorpresa llegó cuando nos trajeron los arroces,, que espectaculo de paellas , si el arroz negro con sepia de la bahía estaba buenísimo, la paella de marisco era una explosión en boca muy muy buena , la atención de los camareros excelente un trato muy agradable altamente recomendable

We are regular year round visitors and have noticed prices being marked up in light of Covid, not everywhere but definitly here. This wouldn’t be so bad if the service and the food justified it. Last night despite having a great table upstairs with stunning views we had the indifferent waiter from hell and a main course that had clearly been cooked the same time as the starter and left on the side under a warmer. Tasteless dry and our feedback met with indifference from the waiter that seems to think invading your personal space went with his job description .
