"We went to Bengal Spice for a family birthday meal. We were made to wait a long while for our order to be taken. After asking someone to take our order, we then waited over an hour for our food to arrive. We wouldn't have...minded if it was incredibly busy, however we were the only ones in the restaurant! There were numerous takeaway collections who came in but this shouldn't have taken them well over an hour! We were not offered more drinks in this time and there was no compensation at the end of it to make us feel better. We mentioned to the staff several times that we were waiting such a long time but they still didn't respond. The food was delicious when it eventually came. We were all very happy with our meals, except the mix up on the naan. But it really shouldn't have taken so long! This restaurant is really designed for a takeaway rather than eat in. They are really trying too hard to do both and should concentrate on just their takeaway service. Well done on the food. But your in house service needs some serious work! Thank you."

Have eaten in this restaurant several times, food is always consistently good, authentic flavours, always hot and good sized portions, particularly like the king prawn madras and chicken tikka masala. Very friendly staff and like to eat in local establishments

Four of us were here on 15/6/19 had a great evening. Wonderful food (best Indian meal in a long time), friendly staff good atmosphere. The fact we can walk here is great. No need for a taxi! If you live in the Marshalswick/Jersey...Farm area not tried it yet then do! I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Bengal Spice for a lovely evening great food! We will be back soon

We ordered a delivery last night and ordered a selection of dishes with our friends. We ordered online which was time consuming but this was our choice to receive a discount. The delivery was on time, food was hot and delicious! The foods were flavoursome...and of good portions. We always order from our local Indian and our friends were also very complimentary of the food! Thank you.

tonight we have placed a pickup through the own website of the bengal spice. we received a confirmation email to say our order would be with us at 19:06 a.m. tonight. At 7:30 I arranged bengal spice just to find out that they had lost our order. about,. they could offer us only a 10% discount and 45 (yes, 45). moment to replace it. I hope they think this is acceptable and hope that they will solve the problem before they let a different family disappointed and without food leave to their mother's birthday! do not order from here to avoid disappointment!

Being a student who lived out during university I used to really miss my mums cooking. Nothing beats a mother’s cooking. However when i found Bengal spices and I ordered from there I felt like I found my go to place which reminded me of...my mother’s cooking. Every single dish On the menu I can say reminds me of home. Sometimes there’s more peppers than meat which I guess can occur mistakenly. But mostly the price for the quality you pay for is really worth it. Flavours are absolutely amazing. And also the only place who know how to make it just as spicy as it should be when you ask them too. Very happy with your service thank you very much. I used to always also be given shemai haha thank y...

I spent new years with my partner and my daughter. the table has been a little after 6:30 a.m. and was immediately seated and served with drinks and poppa domes with in 10 minutes we also ordered our main meal so sat and. a. poppadome and waited for our food, then at 7.30 they said sadly that they were busy and our food will be served soon. ten minutes later, eating was just coming to find it was warm, at which point we were the waiter who called the manager, who then harassed and said he would take care of it. after about 6 minutes he returned with the meal apon, which it was just as warm as we pointed out that he was unhappy with us so that we also went my daughter to the toilet only to fi...

I visited my fiance last week and my fiance was ill so I decided to get a takeaway for us. So ordered our takeaway through Just Eat. I myself ordered a Chot Poti, Chicken Balti, Chapati and a Stuffed naan and I ordered Tandoori King...Prawn and Tandoori mix Grill. Once we got the delivery I soon started unpacking it as I was hungry and my fiance haven't eaten anything for a day. The Chicken Balti was oily and tasteless, although I ended up eating it as I was hungry. I was furious when it came to my fiance because my fiance couldn't eat then King Prawn because it was oily and unseasoned, first I thought maybe she's is ill that's why she's saying it's unseasoned then I tried it, it was awful w...

"Yammin-Yummy says. ... 5 stars ... also a rarely awarded- 'beezybonus'. . . now, where do I begin to begin with such an amazingly appealing selection of freshly prepared foods that one would naturally expect that, already cooked, sitting, waiting for the next hungry expected customers. this can sometimes cook up to 10-20-50mins before they are placed in front of them. not here. freshly cooked. now this beautiful example of a traditional 'fish chip love affair, established over generations of Friday nights, was beautifully designed to tell their mouth, tonge taste panties, please attach their belts, and then it is about them an incredible arbor ride. ... one who seems to go up just as once they decided what's going in their mouth first (at least the crispy tail end) begins their incredible journey up; as their eyebrows increase during thinking, omg that 's sooo different good, light, crispy teig as I've never tasted in my 37 years since the beginning in the food industry. And then I made the mistake of dipping my squid in the homemade tartaric acid sauce. that is when the 1st massive fear happened, as I thought, oh my days; the better then mean, re-entry, deeper, actually cure my wrist action, to ensure maximum absorption of this sweet/creamy/tart/caper filled taste, as I reached for a chip to accompany, strengthen the excellent experience I thought stupid would be a 'standard thing'. Now I took care of you like this, but I have seen on my chips a few each mouthful was an experience, depending on how I stacked the fork, hahahaha. the fish was so fresh that I was looking on my teller sand. ... to dedicate a joy to each chip. ... the muddy heaps, normally warmed, not microshaft to a mass-hotter-then-the-sun, went a tasty bite, and quickly also, for once. the lemon shattered haddock had to be tied to the plate, because this teig was so light that it almost raised to the deck. but as soon as this handmade tasty tartaric acid sauce meets, any responsible 'handler-of-the-fork', wants to make sure that its only trajectory can be swallowed in their waiting swallow. It was so good, I couldn't stand to leave a single diesel and with this tartaric acid sauce, which even made a bulky chip, was nothing left, I was ashamed to ask the cook the recipe for 'this sauce', as he made such a light oil-free beautiful teig. the staff is very attentive, courteous, with a beautiful large sitting area also. get yourself here quickly bungalows to make an ordinary experience, in an excellent exciting eating expedition into a court that we all know so well, but so different. ... enjoy."

"Ever since they opened, I 've been for family gatherings, social events and dates and every time it has not disappointed. The staff are always welcoming and have a positive attitude. They are attentive, happily explaining the menu and how food should be ordered making recommendations. The menu itself doesn 't overwhelm with choice and is perfect for those with all tastes. There are plenty of veggie options and the wine is impeccably selected. The food is absolutely delicious and very well presented. The quality is evident. The portion sizes are perfect and not just stomach fillers (e.g. excess bread or rice). Every bite feels worth it. Please be aware that this restaurant is about sharing and each dish is made for it. There are no 'courses '. It 's about ordering the dishes you want and they will arrive when ready. With all the above in mind, this does mean that the prices are on the higher end and with alcohol you can expect to spend around £40 per person if you also include desserts (which are also incredible, especially the Creme brûlée). This might seem expensive, but remember, it 's about the experience, not just the food! Tabure is worth every penny in my humble opinion. If it 's just the two of you and you 'd like something different with a significant other, I 'd highly suggest requesting seats at the chefs table over looking the charcoal grill! It 's amazing watching the chefs work their magic and adds so much to the experience that most restaurants don 't provide."
