"I planned my trip to dartmoor to visit this pub. I went years ago and thought it was great. I waited with my dog and partner in the car for it to reopen at 6. Went in and was welcomed, they gave the dog some water. They took drinks orders. Soon after the lady owner started shouting at me saying to keep my dog in one area. He was on a lead so i said where would to like him to go? She continued shouting and saying she had people over for dinner and the dog is making the floor dirty. He is a medium sized cockerpoo and the floor is dark stone so we were confused as to why the dog wasn't welcome. She said we can go if we want which made us feel like we ought to. She continued shouting about the trouble we caused for making the floor dirty and wasting our drinks. We didn't say anything back to her yelling and she gave us no choice but to leave. I checked ahead and they say dogs are welcome. It was all a but bizarre and very disappointing."

"We visited for dinner for two on a Friday night and found the booking process over the phone to be very easy with a helpful employee. We were warmly welcomed and seated at a beautifully decorated table. The restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere. We shared the calzone and enjoyed the Heke special with seasonal vegetables, whitebait, and fries. We also had a glass of wine and tiramisu for dessert. The food was delicious and we were impressed with the portion size and quality. I had a well-made espresso martini which was reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and attentive during our visit. We will definitely be returning and would recommend it to everyone."

"I took my elderly mum (82) and her friend for lunch. I ordered and awaited for the food to come. Whilst waiting another customer came accompanied by a lady and a dog. The dog immediately sat on the cushioned bench seats along side us. I was astonishing as it was a lovely day and there was seating outside. The people next to us them moved along the cafe to another seat again the dog sitting on a seat. I asked the waitress if she was going to clean the seat that the dog had sat on. She was very vague. This cafe does not state that it is pet friendly, even so the dog should have been on the floor. My mums friend is allergic to dog which I brought to the attention of the waitress. Nothing was done. We left having no finished our food. I would not recommend this cafe. Obviously this is a cross contamination offence with food and hygiene"

"The food at this restaurant was delicious, but unfortunately the service was extremely lacking. The owner was rude and unhelpful, and we encountered numerous issues trying to order through the app. Despite spending over £200, we did not receive a single apology or thank you from him. Although we were given a complimentary round of shots due to our frustration, I would have preferred better customer service. I recommend ordering for delivery rather than dining in person."

"Came here today and will not be returning. Was not told until after I had paid that it would be a 20 minute wait for a panini, my partner got food elsewhere as we both wanted something quick on the go and sat at a table whilst waiting. They forgot my drink so I had to chase and my panini came 30 minutes later, my partner got told he couldn’t eat at the table however he just had his take away box on the table, we were simply waiting. Once my item was given we quickly left feeling annoyed by the service and long wait, only to find my item was missing ingredients. Marcos will most definitely not be seeing us again, there are several other lovely cafes down the Island which rank higher Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"
