"Went here for lunch with some family. Very very busy, we were told unable to reserve a table and we had to wait for a table to become available, which we didn’t mind waiting. Extensive menu, plenty to choose from. Loved the decor inside, proper cosy cafe. Food was excellent, however, some staff (not all) had a poor attitude. Completely understand stress at busy times. We felt like we were causing bother when ordering and asking for cutlery and napkins which weren’t given to us. Not very cheery or welcoming but would visit again."

Day visit to Tarbert from portavadie. Stopped for lunch at Cafe Ca'dora's. Service was great and friendly. Food was excellent and reasonably priced.

Visited the Cafe Ca’Dora after getting off the Portavadie ferry. Excellent breakfast and real coffee. Quite a few locals in which is always a good sign.

Busy wee place, great selection of food, vegan friendly. We popped in for soup one day and coffee and cake the next. Both visits were excellent. Staff are great. Speisekarte ansehen

Lovely place with great food! Can’t wait to go again. We were looking for somewhere to go for dinner while on a short holiday, it always looks busy and no wonder. Would definitely recommend.

Not only is there something delicious on the menu to suit everyone, the staff are wonderful too. I realised I’d left my bag at the cafe and the staff put it in the post for me and sent it to my home address. Thank you so much for your kindness.

Three years ago my husband and visited Cafe Ca Dora and we’re not very impressed. The best feature then was that it was vegetarian friendly. That is still its best feature. Perhaps its only feature. In these 3 years, the prices have increased, while the... Speisekarte ansehen

Cafe Ca'Dora sits right on the harbour front in the fishing village of Tarbert. It's recently been transformed from the traditional 1960's formica tables and jukebox cafe of it's first heyday to a modern, stylish and incredibly popular cafe/restaurant. It's always busy, and that's testament...

The café is small but bustling, with a nice view of the harbour. The staff are friendly, the coffee is good, and they have a decent selection of cakes. The tables were all occupied, with some customers lingering over empty cups and plates, while others were waiting in line for a seat. I would definitely return, especially since they have a complimentary restroom for customers.

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
