Cafe Restaurant Rathaus

Unfreundlicher Service, lange Wartezeit, hohe Preise, schmutzige Tischdecke. Begrenzte Kaffeeauswahl. Schade, denn von außen wirkt das Innere gemütlich und die U-Bahn ist nur wenige Schritte entfernt. Kann ich nicht empfehlen.

The waiter was exteremly rude. She almost wanted me to leave because I wanted to sit outside when it is 16 degree. It was warm enough but she insisted that it is wet outside. Anyway, you should definately avoid going that place.

We decided on this restaurant on our last night as it was close to our hotel and we were tired. The service was very good and as we had not tried it we had Tafelspitz. It was very good, substantial and tasty (to my surprise) and we had strudel to finish. It's very reasonably priced and we would not hesitate to go back next time we are in Vienna.

I've been here several times when visiting Vienna and have never been disappointed. The service is friendly and efficient, the foot is yummy and reasonably priced. It's steps away from the U2 Rathaus station. There are lots of magazines and newspapers available if you just want to sit with a beverage and read quietly. The last time I was there it was close to closing time but I didn't feel at all rushed.

Die Restaurants in Wien scheinen fast identische Speisekarten zu haben. Natürlich habe ich nach authentischer österreichischer Küche gesucht. Vielleicht bin ich schon zu lange in Wien und werde müde, alle Mahlzeiten in Restaurants zu essen. Das beste Gericht, das ich hier probiert habe, war die Spargelcremesuppe. Das ist eine cremige Spargelsuppe mit Stücken von europäischem weißen Spargel darin. Sehr lecker.

This was a good find, nearby to our hotel. The evening we went there it was uncrowded, unhurried, and served tasty Viennese traditional food and wine from a smallish but varied menu. The one waitress in charge was friendly, helpful and efficient, and spoke good English. The decor was comfortable and old-fashioned, and our final bill was pleasantly moderate.Although the café is close to the inner old town, it's far enough away from the tourist hordes to make it a pleasant place to enjoy a relaxing meal at any time of day.

Dies ist im Grunde genommen Ihr Standard-Europäisches Restaurant; durchschnittliches, wenn nicht etwas überteuertes Essen. Die Portionsgrößen waren definitiv ausreichend, ebenso wie das freundliche Personal, das mit unserem gebrochenen Deutsch zurechtkam. Jedoch stellten wir beim Bezahlen der Rechnung fest, dass uns etwa 8€ für Grissini berechnet wurden, nach denen wir nicht gefragt hatten (und davon ausgegangen waren, dass sie kostenlos seien). Darüber hinaus kostete ein 1-Liter-Krug Wasser 7€. Ich würde dieses Restaurant nicht unbedingt empfehlen. Insgesamt etwas ironisch, dass sie ein Bild von Jesus aufgehängt haben, während sie fast 20€ für Brot und Wasser berechnen.

first night in Vienna and wanted some schnitzel. this place was close to our apartment and since we'd been on the road all day we weren't interested in roaming too far. nice place, was able to eat outside (much cooler than inside, which had no AC). waitress was very friendly. we ordered the veal schnitzel, figuring that it was the best of the 3 choices (veal/chicken/pork). nearly 2x the price for veal, but what the heck - if it's touted to be the best, let's go for it. turns out the veal was overdone and a bit dry. very disappointing. had pork schnitzel in a small town in the Czech Republic (Tabor) and it was delicious. so unfortunately, our first meal in Vienna turned out to be a downer. ca...
