We took our children here on a busy Saturday night, and Jerome and his team were very friendly, spoke excellent English (always helpful if your French is as poor as ours) and gave us a really good table. The menu is a mix of French, American (huge burgers were being eaten by other people) and Russia - my daughter had meatballs. All really tasty and plates cleared by the whole family. Would definitely go back on our next trip.

We discovered this place as it was just around the corner from our hostel. We walked in early in the night and got a table straight away. The french guy translated everything on the menu for us the legend. Plenty of choice, the food was excellent and fairly well priced, not cheap but not expensive. Would definitely recommend this place, best meal I had in the 4 days I was in Paris. Dont fall for the trap of eating closer to town!!

They serve up some really great food - tartar steak, burger and fish tartar were quite good - and our son (and other, older, customers) really enjoyed the after dinner candy that came in the form of a giant jar were you picked and chose from a colourful array of gummies, gumdrops and pastilles.The servers took their time to talk to us, telling us a little about them and asking about us, as well as trying their best to translate the specials and some parts of the menu into English.

The restaurant staff were very friendly, pleasant and helpful to our family, and were able to accommodate my son's food allergies, which was very much appreciated. The gentleman spoke very good English and readily answered our questions. There was a nice, varied selection of dishes on the menu. My sons had steak, my husband had a fish dish, and I had a meal salad, which were all delicious. You could sit outside and have a relaxing view of the river or sit inside. The restaurant was convenient to our hotel which we could walk to. My kids loved the jar of candy brought out at the end of the meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant, including for families with kids.

We ended up here after a trying time looking for something local along the Bassin de La Villette, with room to eat and have a conversation which could be heard! Every place was overflowing with people and this was comparatively empty. It looked interesting - rather brutal and suitably themed with real communist memorabilia - and the menu looked good, so we decided to chance it. It turned out to be very good. All of us apart from one member of the party of four chose vegetarian options, which were really good. The veggie burger was particularly good. I came with my family for a late Sunday lunch on Quai de la Loire docks. We found Camarade Boris near Laumière metro station.It's a trendy restaurant with a mix of industrial and yard sale look : mismatched chairs, leather pieces fixed to the walls, wooden crates. And a room full of communism memorabilia : red hangings, emblems, tag lines, pictures. This atypical decor creates a cozy atmosphere and attracts many regulars. We found this place as its just off the Quai de Loire. It has a communist theme, which means lots of red and interesting names for dishes such as 'les Fideles escargots de Castro'. The service is good. The place was packed when we were there and staff were busy but friendly. The menu is in French, but staff speak English so can explain it if you have questions. The three of us had the burger, which is huge and comes with a tiny bit of salad and lots of french frites. We received a friendly welcome and were taken to a table for two inside near one of the windows.Tip: You can't smoke inside so those that do sit outside. If you sit near the windows when they are open then you'll get smoke blown over you. You may / may not like that.We were given menus and then asked what we wanted to drink. I spent an evening here with some colleagues and we were all very impressed. Great locality to our hotel nearby meant only a short walk. The decor was interesting, running a communist theme, pictures of the likes of Karl Marx, Che Guevara and Boris Yeltsin could be found dotted around which was weird considering no communist regime would ever likely get fed so well. Being English it's sometimes very difficult to either easily converse with the Parisians or find an English menu, so usually the evening requires me muddling through the menu armed with my admittedly poor French language skills.
