Best sandwiches in town! The owner is amazing, he takes his time to explain everything about how the food is made, cured and let's us try a few! Amazing bien-cuit bread. Perfect to grab and eat!

Was so excited that this spot was next to where I am staying. Then I went in and the beady eyed guy started messing with me from the moment I walked in the door. He kept glaring at his friend, saying something in French, then...More

The Gem of the upper north Marais; A little shop where you can buy great sandwiches (the hot one of the day is amazing) with herbs ham, with mirabelle (plum) with Italian Umbriaco ham steamed in a wine barrel, jamon iberico de bellota Guijuelo affiné 36 months and so many more. All on traditional baguette from Manon. Prices in between 5 and 6 euros.

This tiny shop is AMAZING. We always make sure to stop in at least once when in Paris. The owner is kind & knows his way around ham. Just tell him what you like & ask him what he recommends - try something you've never had before. The first time we stopped in we went a little crazy buying all sorts of ham - you can spend a lot when there are truffles involved. But worth every penny! Have him make you a sandwich if you can't decide - the bread, butter & delicious ham is heaven in your mouth.

I learnt about this shop a year ago whilst in Paris and immediately fell in love. The world is full of great cured meat shops, my home tome Adelaide is full of great places full of cured meats, but Caractere de Cochon transported the idea of cured meats (and other things) to a another level altogether.Where do you begin? There are so many things to try, from the meat cured in hay and cognac, to the most fabulous sandwich, mini chorizo, hams of many styles, there is so much to choose from.People talk of their top six, well I suggest that the Snowballs - cured pork with truffle and rolled in parmesan - are one of the wonders of my food world.

Super, super good, all kind of hams and saucissons and amongst the best jambon beurre sandwich in Paris - it would be the best one if they didn't use the bread from Manon, the boulangerie next door, which is just average, especially compared to the amazing boulangeries/bread available in the district, such as 134 rue de Turenne or Huré in Rambuteau street... Friendly staff, thank you!Super, super bon, superbe selection - un seul hic, le pain de chez Manon, très très moyen... Pourquoi ne pas se fournir au 134 rue de Turenne ou chez Huré rue Rambuteau?! Le pain y est bien meilleur pour un jambon beurre!....Excellents jambons et saucissons et super accueil.

We were staying across the street in an apartment and this shop was recommended to us. Didn't know what to get but they recommended the ham sandwich. Absolutely heavenly. We were back the next day for more and also some sausage. Absolutely heavenly. And while we did not try their pate, (next time!), we hear that is heavenly. We went back the day before our departure and he made us more ham sandwiches for our flight (sure beats the airline food and you can't help but smile as you have that last wonderful taste of Paris) and to bring sausage home with us.
