"As we wanted more than crepes and the highest rated 'real' restaurant, the Terremer, was closed, we went for Tripadvisor's fourth highest rated establishment, La Closerie de Kerdrain, for a weekday lunch. We were able to park on the road right outside, and entered the attractive chateau via a pretty garden. We were the first guests and were shown to a window table, well spaced from the surrounding ones. The dining room was lovely, with the pale wooden panelling and antique furniture appropriate to the chateau. We ordered the lunch menu, including a glass of house chardonnay each and coffee, for what seemed a very reasonable Euro 38 per person. The service was impeccable. Following a gin and tonic for me and a cocktail maison for my wife, two courses of amuses bouches followed. The starter (no choice with the lunch menu) was green asparagus soup with egg and shiitake mushrooms; this sounded good, but it was in reality very dull and bland, although beautifully presented. The main dish was gilthead bream with green lentils, leeks and a curious gray sauce the taste of which was as anonymous as the rest of the dish. Dessert was a strawberry tart - the strawberries were good. Coffee was accompanied by petits fours, the best part of the meal. There was nothing really wrong with the menu, but it was boring food. The only extra ingredient used in the starter and the main dish was apparently salt. We were reminded of the type of meal you used to get in tired old English seaside hotels, with none of the innovation and flair of Brittany cooking. Our bill was Euro 95, which should have been a bargain in such a fine-looking restaurant, but appearances can be deceptive and we left disappointed that the food in no way matched the surroundings."

The menu is creative and refined. Our diner was perfectly prepared with fresh produce from the garden or local speciality producers. It was delicious. The service was exemplary and the decor beautiful. It is an great quality-price that deserve Michelin recognition. Don't skip this experience.

Drinks in the garden were very pleasant before going in for dinner. Very attentive and charming staff, including la patronne herself. Inside the feeling was very "Vielle France" where the décor was in a state of genteel decay. The service was impeccable but rather formal and overbearing. But one can expect all of that in this style of establishment. What really fell short was the food ! A crab meat starter beautifully presented but lacking in taste. This was followed by a roti of veal cutlets which were once again very short of flavour, and slightly chewy. I can't remember the dessert, I suppose I had lost interest by that time and just wanted to escape.

I picked La Closerie de Kerdrain to have my birthday dinner and we were absolutely stunned! This old residence is transformed into a unique restaurant. The hostess took very good care of us (we had in our party two person with disability) and put us in a private room with a big round table that made us feel like we were in the royal family! :) Apart from that, the food was amazing, we had the menu and each one of us was more than satisfied with the variety and the taste of their dishes all of them cooked with local products. In the end, they surprised me with a dessert that had written on with chocolate syrup "joyeux anniversaire"! Yum!!! Definitely recommended!!

This was the most memorable and delicious lunch we have ever had. It was a transformative experience. Every element of our visit was ideal. The ambience of the house is so relaxing and beautiful. Madam Corfmat and the young lady and gentleman who served us were models of kindness and charm. The champagne and appetisers we had while we read the menu were fantastic, inventive and surprising. The lunch itself was perfection and knowledgeable advice ensured that each dish was complimented by the best wine. The coffee and petits fours were so good too, and when we walked back to our car, we could hardly believe our good fortune to have spent a few hours in such heaven. We sincerely thank Madame fo...

It is so rare to find in the same place a beautiful setting, a genuine welcome , an efficient service , and remarkable food , fresh and fine all the same . The place is a XVII century manor in Auray, elegantly decorated in a very tasteful way . The owners , Martine et Fernand Corfmat have been there for 28 years and have developed a stable and extremely friendly staff who are effortlessly helpful .When I called from the gare d'Auray , where no taxi would ever turn up, we were offered to be picked up by the restaurant . 10 minutes later we arrived and the owner immediately arranged for a swift service given our tight schedule . The "sauté de homard bleu au beurre fin" was delicious and comes...

we find the restaurant near kerdrain on our journey through the Gulf of morbihan. specifically this establishment is located in the small town of auray this is one of those restaurants with its own personality and that preserves all the charm and essence of bretaña. the quiet and familiar atmosphere gives it a very particular character that the chef, fernand corfmat, has a very peculiar way of cooking, and he is committed to giving free rein to his imagination to compose some exquisite dishes that fascinated us, both for its drop and for its presentation, the restaurant the proximity of kerdrain has four classic rooms where you serve the food. They have a different decoration according to th...

I attended the restaurant with my partner last Wednesday evening, slightly apprehensive of what to expect. Whilst this was to be my first experience at La Closerie de Kerdrain, my partner had frequented the restaurant a number of times previously and had informed me of the quality of food and service that we were to receive. She even went as far as to say it would be, in all likelihood, the highlight of our holiday. Needless to say I was not disappointed but instead thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail in every course. The presentation was exquisite throughout and the service impeccable. Unlike other fine dining restaurants that I have visited in the past, this one managed to be...

It's not so common to experience such a perfect combination of location, food, wine and atmosphere. This is not a place for an every day lunch but the price is really not expensive compared to other top quality restaurants. So, if you love to eat at a very high level, you have to plan a dinner here during your holidays in Morbihan, or at least a deviation from your main route towards other destinations. It is really worth and you will not regret it. After a home made welcome cocktail sipped in the veranda, Madame Corfmat introduced us in the main dining room, with old fashioned style furniture. My wife chose the “Entre terre et Mer” menu, Tarte sable, Sole and Parfait glacè (43 euro), me the...
