"Upon our arrival, Dad was greeted like an old friend, and we were promptly shown to our table. I noticed a few families speaking Indian dialects, which I took as a great sign that we were in for some authentic cuisine. I was not disappointed! For our starter, we ordered the chicken poppadoms, which were a fantastic light and tasty entrée, featuring a lovely crunch from the poppadom topped with a generous amount of chutney, coriander, and spices that complemented each other beautifully. For our main courses, Dad went for his favorite lamb rogan josh with steamed rice, while I chose the chef's special, chicken tikka pulao rice, accompanied by a few chapatis. Judging by the silence at our table as we enjoyed our meals and the subsequent clean plates, both dishes were a hit! The lamb was cooked to perfection, and mine was a dish I had never tried before but will definitely recommend. Can I recommend this place? Absolutely! If you're in the Northeast, especially near Newcastle upon Tyne and craving Indian cuisine, look no further. While the prices might be slightly higher than at other restaurants, the exceptional service, outstanding food, and overall wonderful experience are well worth it."

"I am never disappointed by my visits. But yesterday’s lunch broke all records for deliciousness. It must be years since we last had minestrone soup but what a tasty warming choice for the first day of November. And then … great big generous king prawns in cream with a touch of chilli and a life enhancing splash of ouzo. A taste sensation! And absolute bliss."

"This place is a vegan's paradise and my absolute favorite spot for dining out. It's amazing to have such a wide variety of vegetable-based and fresh dishes to choose from. The high quality ingredients and careful thought put into the menu are evident. My family and I visit almost every weekend and have never been disappointed with anything we've tried. The staff always provides a warm welcome and serves excellent coffee. It's unfortunate that the space is limited and they now only offer takeaway service, but this allows them to sell a range of plant-based deli products for home enjoyment. This small family-owned business truly deserves all the success that comes their way, as everything about it is simply perfect in my opinion."

"We hadn't visited this restaurant in a couple of years and had good memories of it being a special place (we had brought guests here as it was at the top of our list of local restaurants), but our recent experience this week was disappointing. The staff member who greeted us at the door seemed disinterested in being at work, showing no signs of friendliness or engaging in any conversation throughout the evening, including when we paid the bill. First impressions are important. Unfortunately, the food was also lacking. Although the menu descriptions were intriguing with a variety of options, none of our appetizers or main dishes stood out - where were the promised flavors? Bruschetta without garlic or basil? Overall, the food was just "okay" but not worth the price. It seemed like cheap ingredients were used and corners were cut to save money. The restaurant still has a nice ambiance and I'm sure it's lively on weekends, but this historic place deserves better. We will be exploring other dining options in the future. It's a shame, as this restaurant has the potential to be truly special."

"I had heard great things about this place from family and friends but had somehow never got round to visiting. So after an early finish from work we decided to go for lunch. There is a very chilled atmosphere and an eclectic mix of music playing in the background. The lunchtime menu includes a few main dishes with various paninis. I opted for the lamb and harissa burger while my wife went for the cauliflower and chickpea samosa. They don't sell alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own. The bill came to £30 that included soft drinks and coffee. The staff are super friendly and very informative when it comes to explaining the various dishes. We will return to try the dinner menu."
