Booked for 5 people only to turn up after 20 mile drive to find it was shut on a bank holiday Sunday afternoon . Very poor and wont bother returning Meal type: Other

The food was terrible, the staff were rude and incompetent, and we waited over 2 hours for cold food. The restaurant was dirty and it seems the new management has ruined the place. I and my family were often and always enjoying the carvery that is delicious and very good. the staff are very friendly and attentive, a few months back I was not very good and fought to eat my food they were worried for me and insisted I take the meal home and boxed it for me later to eat it was a nice gesture that I appreciated, definitiw a great place to go to eat that they would not be disappointed,

What a shame ! We have been going here for quite a few years since it reopened, the food and staff were outstanding. Unfortunately it has been under new management a few times and I’m sorry to say the food has suffered for it . Even the carvery which it is well known for has increased in cost quite a bit , understandably with the recent cost of living, but the food hasn’t increased in quality , less meat portions and undercooked veggies, or on one occasion of having a different meal totally overcooked. I really hope it’s short lived and they get back to the top dog we look forward to visiting.

visited the dog today with the family for a birthday meal. we do not eat as a family very often as it can be hard work with a baby and a small child, but we all had a great time. the staff is very friendly and helpful. nothing was a problem at all, even if my little boy decided to throw his chicken on the floor (again, so I'm sorry.) a real relaxed, friendly atmosphere. and eating was beautiful. amazing carvery with so much to choose from and very large portion sizes! excellent value for money. the youngest 2 had a chicken nugget menu that was delicious again. large pieces delicate chicken breast.
