"I chanced upon this bar by accident and I was so very glad I did. The most friendly and lovely barman I met in Ávila served me wine with a free tapa of the most incredible pisto I think I've ever eaten. He had offered me some other tapa before that but I'd explained that I'm vegetarian and then he came back with the pisto and bread to mop it up with. It was heavenly. When I asked for another wine, he asked if I could eat tuna and said that he had a delicious bocadillo but that it had atún in it but if I didn't mind fish I was welcome to it. While I ate fish for a long time after I stopped eating other meats, I wouldn't now, but he was so lovely and really apologetic that he didn't have anything left that I could eat. Then inspiration struck and he went off and got me some cheese. Honestly he was the most friendly person and so kind. I think this place specialises in chuletón con patatas y ensalada and entrecot con patatas and such, but I think they should be putting big signs outside saying that they specialise in pisto!"

Un bar de toda la vida, donde las patatas dos salsas junto con la paella, son los aperitivos típicos.Los bocatines de aperitivo, muy buenos, porque los tuestan en vez de calentarlos en el microondas.

Un buen sitio para comer con un buen producto. Si lo que te interesa es comer bien, este es tu lugar. Su producto es el mismo o mejor que los restaurantes ubicados en el centro, en los que se paga un sobrecargo por el emplazamiento. Me comí un entrecot con D.O de Ávila. Hacía tiempo que no comía uno así. Sabroso y tierno.

Indeed, that I would say that in such a typical Spanish place, in the middle of the city of Avila (in the historical center), in a mesoon made entirely of wood and also called avila, I would try one of the richest paellas I have ever tasted (after some tested in valence, and those that my mother and my grandmother make me). Our partner is right, even if they have a great variety in their menu, it is worth trying the paella of the month of avila. And if you go in summer, like me, and you do it on your wonderful terrace, better than better.
