"The food was mediocre. The calamari was overcooked and the chicken seemed reheated. The service was alright, but overall the experience has declined. It used to be a nice place to grab tea or bring the kids, but I don’t think I’ll be coming back."

I arrived without my reservation, even though I had booked through OpenTable. The food was just so-so; nothing particularly exciting. I won't be returning.

"We waited in line outside, with only one group or individual allowed in at a time. The staff was wearing masks, and you placed your order inside before picking up your food from an outside window. The staff was very helpful in helping us decide what to order. The menu offers both vegan and non-vegan options. We purchased a vegan sandwich, drinks, and cake, all of which were delicious. The packaging appeared to be mostly eco-friendly. We would definitely return for a quick bite or drink if we are in the area again."

"We had the pork belly for starter and wow it melted in your mouth. It was coated in a beautiful sweet sauce and the crackling the lovely and crispy also the apple slaw that came with it was the perfect balance. For main we had the 10z black Angus on the steak stone and I’ve never tasted anything like it it was delicious, as soon as the steak hit my tongue it melted away. It was seasoned beautifully and wasn’t chewy at all every bite was so easy. It was so soft and buttery that you could’ve cut it with a spoon. I highly recommend! We also had some sides, chips, cauliflower cheese, onion rings amd creamed chorizo cabbage and leek, and all of these were delicious the creamed chorizo cabbage and leek was amazing and highly recommend along with the onion rings they was crispy and sweet! Finally we had dessert, my partner had the chocolate mousse garden pot and he thoroughly enjoyed it and I had the stick toffee pudding that I asked to have with custard and even though it wasn’t on the menu the waiter went out of his way to get it for me for my dessert, also it was our birthdays and the waiter and waiters came out with our dessert with candles in them and light up tambourines singing happy birthday to us! Highly recommend this restaurant environment was perfect food was beyond compare! The staff were so lovely and paid so much attention and care for their guests."

"Haven’t visited family for years and my father suggested a trip to the sports. I walked in and it was like I’d never been away. Welcomed back and lovely to see old faces who are we looked after by the staff. It gives them company and safety surrounded by familiar surroundings. Impressed with the new menu, had the small planks which was 5 for 12.49 which fed 3 of us. The barmaid commented it was amazing and their ‘Birkenhead tapas’ it arrived quickly and cooked to perfection. Grateful for how they take care of their regulars and go the extra mile to make sure they are happy. Would give more stars if I could and thank you"

"We have been to this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed with the food or service. We went on Saturday for my daughter in law's birthday. The place was packed and had a great atmosphere. Staff were friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning."
