George's Fish and Souvlaki Bar

Take a look at the portion size! I can’t believe that this was the portion size for a Naked souvlaki at £8.95. Talk about stingy. I emailed the business to ask them if this was the standard portion but am still waiting for a response.

I do not recommend getting takeaway from here. It was my first and last time trying their kebab/burger and chips, which were the worst I've ever had. I paid £30 for dried up, not fresh chips, and the tomato was not fresh either. The whole meal was boring and ended up in the bin. The food was barely warm. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Well,i went three times,,once to eat kebabs witch sheftalia was raw mushy red inside,,,second time with girlfreind same thing,raw meat sheftalia red inside,,when i complaint,he always blamed a cook in the kitchen,,i mean all it is is kebbab,,anyway,,went back three months later for meze,,im greek not full cypriot,,and the mezze was so discusting from £180 cost,he charged me £40 and still that was not worth a penny,,im supprised hes still open.

The food at George's is delicious, although the menu was more varied prior to the pandemic. The Greek dishes are still very tasty. The service is outstanding. It has been some time since I last dined there, but during my last visit, a staff member mentioned that the owner monitors both the staff and customers through the many video cameras in the dining area. This can be disconcerting while trying to enjoy your meal. Aside from that, everything else is wonderful.

Honestly food was amazing, first time visiting a few days ago i was served by two blonde girls who were absolutely lovely and so chatty they made my food quick and with care they were working very hard however i was shocked when the cook started shouting at the two counterstaff he was demanding things and pushing past them while shouting and screaming, the girls looked so stressed bless them my food was amazing though and the other staff were great! but please sort out your chef absolutely disgusting

I went to this restaurant tonight with some friends I haven't seen since before the pandemic. We were seated in the restaurant and the staff were very friendly. We all decided to order haddock and chips, but I was disappointed to learn that plaice was no longer on the menu. The food was served promptly and was very hot. However, when it came time to pay the bill, we were informed that the card machine was not working. It would have been helpful to know this upon arrival so that I could have prepared cash in advance.

We decided to order a takeaway birthday meal from this restaurant while in quarantine due to Covid. A friend had recommended it as she used to visit frequently, but we were disappointed with our experience. The kebab meat was dry, and the chips seemed to be leftovers from earlier in the day. The salad was not fresh, with only the wilted parts of tomatoes and some bits of onion. We reached out to them on Facebook to express our concerns, but we never received a response. Additionally, the meal was not inexpensive. We have no plans to return to this establishment in the future.

I had the misfortune of ordering a souvlaki from George's Fish and Souvlaki bar. First of all I thought £12.95 was very overpriced for a souvlaki and chips but because I had 50% off through Uber Eats I decided to give it a go. What a mistake to make! I have to say I was gobsmacked that they can even call themselves a Soulvlaki bar, there wasnt anything Greek about it. It looked like a pita bread bought from Sainsburys put on the grill and filled with tasteless chewy pork and half cooked onions. The only saving grace was the chips were OK. I advise anyone thinking of going here for any Greek food to give it a wide berth!

Today I went to @georgesfishbar In #southwoodford which isn’t just your usual fish and chip bar, they also serve the yummiest Greek Cypriot food too George’s was established in 2006 has since won so many different awards for their food- which you can view on their website. On arrival I was greeted by the owner himself George who made me feel so welcome. The shop was very busy with queues out of the door but After trying their food I could sure see why !
