"I don’t know whether to put this on Facebook, what do you guys think… We went to The Three Shires for Sunday lunch after seeing some good reviews and nice pictures on Social Media. I was particularly enthusiastic to go as I always enjoyed The Three Shires when it was a Wine Bar. Unbelievably, we’re really struggling to find somewhere really decent for a Sunday roast, a reasonable sized portion with good meat, well cooked variety of veg, a Yorkshire pudding and lashings of gravy real gravy, not Bisto. *Overall score 0/10* We were booked in for 2:30pm and we arrived exactly on time, albeit a bit wet. We’d walked past 4 members of staff before anyone engaged with us. Anyway, we were given a choice of tables and we sat down. It was a wee bit small, in the thoroughfare opposite the bar, but it was ok. However, Fiona’s chair was broken, so she (with some late help) swapped it with a chair from the other table. That was broke too but, I was seeing that she was loosing the will to live, so she put up with it, she just didn’t lean back! We ordered drinks from a nice, but very inexperienced waitress and looked through the menu. Fiona wanted a roast chicken dinner, but that wasn’t an option, but, upon asking our waitress, she said that wouldn’t be a problem. She disappeared for a few minutes and when we next saw her we ordered the food about 2:45pm by this time. A bad start, I thought, but bring on the lovely food and all will be alright. Then we waited and waited and waited. The staff all seemed to be in chaos, at one time, four of them trying to work out a bill with the calculators on their mobile phones. Then we waited and waited and waited. At 3:30pm, an older woman came over and apologised. Fiona explained we were really stuck for time as she’d just come from visiting her mother in hospital and she had to get back. No problem, she said, I’ll check how long it will be. Immediately she came back and promised 3 minutes. 10 minutes later, we were still waiting, so we got up. I asked for the bill for the drinks, a pint and two alcohol free Gin Tonics, but they said there wasn’t a charge. In my opinion, the first thing they did right. We headed back to the car and got a drenching from the rain and came home. We don’t think a nice, relaxed, tasty, good value for money Sunday lunch is rocket science, but, clearly we’re, mostly, expecting too much definitely from Huffys at the Three Shires!"

Went for food here as we've been many times in the past, and thought now it's reopened we would try it again, and have to say it was terrible, we left it all. The staff didn't seem to care we didnt like it. Certainly wouldn't recommend it.

Been to Huffy’s a number of times in recent weeks and cannot fault it at any point. I am fussy with my diet and foods that I eat and I am always catered for with a simple request. Sunday lunch is always a hit especially the cauliflower cheese it is incredible I could eat it everyday of the week! Speisekarte ansehen

I’ve been to huffys now for Sunday roast 3 times and hands down it is the most well presented and tasteful dinner me and my friends have had in Stockport for many years. Huffys not only has a talented chef, exceptional bar team, landlord and prices but Is somewhere that has a great atmosphere and is always an enjoyable place to be. Highly recommend to all the public of all ages. 5*

Food was pretty good, took a long time to arrive though. Around and a half fifteen minutes which is far too long under any circumstance. Service was poor too, girl behind the bar seemed hesitant and awkward about the offer that was promoted. She wasn 't very welcoming at all either. Also, there were a few drunken men hanging around the bar area whilst we were dining. Bit odd in a restaurant to have 'bar flys ' in a dining area. Not the sort of vibe I 'd be looking for in a classy food establishment.

A last minute booking to get some food in Stockport when we found out our hotel didn't do evening meals. Picked it quite randomly because I liked the outside of the pub picture and we weren't disappointed. We had a brilliant family get together. The inside is not at all olde worlde as expected more modern bistro bar. Nobody else was in for food as we were initially worried but manager and staff were so very friendly and organised tables and chairs so we could all sit together (8 of us) and the food took a while but was fabulous. Rich creamy sauces, perfectly done steaks -just delicious. It was Friday night and the DJ played good tunes and requests that we got up and danced later on. A brilli... Speisekarte ansehen

Visited here for evening meal after seeing good reviews online. What a mistake it was. First of all we waited well over an hour for the food to arrive. Hopefully thinking that the wait would all be worth it when the food arrived. How wrong was I? I ordered vegan burger that was the worst burger I have ever had with no chips. For the price, £12.95, and no chips. The burger was dry and mainly made out of dry breadcrumb coating. No cheese on it either. My friend ordered some fancy fish dish and mash which they had run out of so they gave him a few chips instead. Well the fish was not much bigger than a fishfinger. Looked like it had been boiled in milk and packet cheese sauce poured on top. And...

After a different day out in Stockport we decided to try this place for something to eat and I'm so glad we did it was gorgeous. Hubby to be had prawns in sweet chilli sauce to start which he said was cooked perfectly. Mains: I had the steak and ale pie with triple cooked chips and peas, it was absolutely gorgeous, the meat and pastry just melted in the mouth. The triple cooked chips were perfect too lovely and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Hubby to be had the pepper rolled steaks in a creamy stilton sauce I had a mouthful and can confirm that it was absolute perfection the sauce complimented the steak, you could taste the stilton but it wasn't over powering. I had the appl...

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
