Huntsman Inn - Speisekarte

I don’t live locally to the area but when I was in town I did head back, little under 12 months from my last visit. It was a Sunday and the pie came with all the roast trimmings, amazing lunch. I’ll be back..

The food was amazing, with a great variety of drinks to choose from. The service was outstanding. We couldn't find anything to complain about. Our evening was wonderful and we will definitely be coming back regularly.

Trouble on the M5 so we were directed off. We found refuge in a lovely little old pub in a small village called Ide. Very cosy and good selection of beers. It was Sunday evening so food had finished but enjoyed a beer and a pack of proper pork scratchings. Speisekarte ansehen

We just moved to the area and had our first meal. It was really good. Ranging from scampi, a beef stew, sausages and mash with onion sauce and a vegetarian pie, everyone enjoyed their food. Nicely presented and pleasant service, good beer too. We will be back.

We popped in on Saturday after a day's Christmas shopping un Exeter. Most tables were reserved we know why now. The landlady was incredibly friendly and found us a table. The food was well presented and lovely. The pub was atmospheric and had a lovely feel to it. We will definitely be coming back soon

We had a fantastic family lunch at The Huntsman Inn! This was our third week in a row coming for Sunday lunch. We had four delicious Roast Beef dinners, which were tender and satisfying, and two Roast Chicken dishes that were juicy and succulent. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. We found the quintessential local English pub, The Huntsman in Ide. Just off the A30, we stopped in for lunch, enjoyed friendly quick service, ciders on draft, plenty of food options (delish Steak Ale pie with mash for me), sparkling clean toilets, and a beer garden out back adjacent to their large car park. On our drizzly Tuesday afternoon, a stream of locals (their regular beers pulled without ordering as soon as they popped in the door) brought the place to life. If we lived 4000 miles closer, we’d be in here every day. Lucky you, residents of Ide!

We booked lunch at this pub as its in the perfect location for meeting up with family, who live in South Devon, whilst we were travelling home from a holiday in Cornwall. We were pleasantly surprised to find it sitting in a quintessential little village. We were greeted with a warm welcome and our party of 13 seated at one end of the delightful bar area. Very dog friendly too. There's a lovely garden outside and ample parking. We'd been asked to pre order our meals which we were happy to do as we were a large group. The food was served efficiently, it was freshly cooked and very tasty. The staff were pleasant and made us feel very comfortable.

Yesterday, on October 29th, 2023, we gathered with friends for Sunday lunch. We ordered 3 beef dishes and 1 chicken dish (as there were no other meat options available). The chicken was tasty, but the beef was tough and chewy. Although the meal came with plenty of vegetables, the roast potatoes were difficult to cut through. We mentioned our dissatisfaction to the waiter, who promised to relay our feedback to the chef, but we never received any further communication. At a high price of £17.95 per person for one course, we were disappointed that the quality of the meal did not match the cost. Unfortunately, the Huntsman Inn fell short of our expectations.
