Been going for the best part of three decades and it never disappoints. The ultimate in how a family business should be run and maintained. Great food, amazing service and always on point. A must when you are in Aberdeen.

The Jewel fails to sparkle. They sold us the worst chicken pakora ever. The rest of the order was average at best except the rice. The rice was great. Be sure to find somewhere else to order food from as this please is over rated.

I asked the team at Jewel in the crown if they could bring back a dish from their old menu as takeaway (Moghlai leg of lamb) as it is arguably the best dish of any Indian restaurant in Aberdeen. What can I say, they delivered that and more! Excellent as always! Speisekarte ansehen

The restaurant greeted us warmly and had beautiful decor. The starters were excellent, especially the vegetable pakora. The curry was delicious, but the chicken was a bit rubbery. Despite this, we would still be willing to give this place another try. The service was fantastic!

Sad day! What was once Aberdeen’s flagship Indian restaurant, it has sadly lost its crown. We had a meal from what used to be the creme del a creme of Indian’s in the city going back many a year, but the food was watered down and no longer authentic, it is definitely not what it used to be. Aberdeen has far better offerings in this category now.

My wife and I had lunch here on 10 August which fell within Aberdeen Restaurant Week. The Jewel offered two courses for £10. The menu choice, quality of food and portion size were faultless and offered excellent value for money. In short, this Indian restaurant is excellent and definitely worth a visit, but be sure to make a reservation. My family and I were able to secure a table, but had to finish our meal within 2 hours. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, the restaurant was clean, and the ambiance was authentic. The only drawback, and I mean the only one, is that the meat dishes, specifically the fish, were quite pricey. I am torn between giving it 4 or 5 stars, but the cost factor is a consideration. Despite this, I would happily return and highly recommend this restaurant. I especially suggest trying the expensive king prawn dishes, as they are truly amazing.

Been here a few time before, during and after covid when they, like most restaurants in Aberdeen, were struggling with low bookings hitting their ability to serve high quality food. Well I can honestly say that is not the case now. What a thoroughly delicious meal we had. We had a mixed grill starter that wasn’t on the menu, a spicy Ceylonian type curry, again not on the menu and a dhall with rice and bread. The mixed grill was delicious, the meat was soft, moist and so tasty. The main curry was just what I fancied and just the right spice. The tarka dhall was amazing, full of spices and bitter garlic. During a recent trip to Aberdeen to attend a family funeral, we decided to order takeaway on the recommendation of our rental property host. I specifically requested chicken pakora, but when I opened the container, I was surprised to find what appeared to be halloumi fries instead. The dish lacked the expected red color, and the taste and texture were bland. After trying one strip of chicken pakora, I returned the rest to the container. Additionally, there was no pakora sauce included, which was odd. I do not plan on returning to Aberdeen, so luckily I won't have to endure this disappointing meal again.
