"My partner and I visited La Turka last night for his birthday meal we had never been to Monton before and the restaurant was recommended to us by a friend, but sadly we wished we’d have gone else where. When we entered, the guy...at the door pointed to a table for us to go and sit at (initial red flag as ideally he should’ve walked us over with menus, but not a huge deal) it then took a good minutes for someone to bring menus over. We arrived at so the restaurant wasn’t busy at this point. We both ordered cocktails, which I hate to say were possibly the worst cocktails we’ve ever had. I had a mojito and my partner had a Singapore Sling. My mojito had about cubes of ice in it this should ideally have been packed with crushed ice. The drink was actually quite warm (room temp) and was sooo sweet it tasted like sugar water. I couldn’t drink it, which is a shame because we would’ve ordered a few cocktails! Our untouched cocktails sat on the table for a good mins with no check backs made, so my partner flagged over a waiter and asked for them to take his cocktail away and he ordered a beer instead. The waitress didn’t ask if my cocktail was ok, nor did she offer another drink so I just stuck to water. The staff did remove the cocktails from our bill in the end, but I think it may be useful to get some easy to follow bar specs or training manuals made, just to make sure that each drink going out is of a good standard. Food wise we ordered a sharing platter to start, which was ok to pick at, but nothing special. It was bland, dry and looked like no love had gone into it. For mains I had the Adana Kofte, which was nice. However, my partner had the garlic and chilli King Prawns which were served with SPROUTS?!? We were confused, a Turkish menu with seasonal veg consisting of broccoli, carrots and sprouts? It just doesn’t go. Maybe with the prawn dish roasted peppers/onion etc might be better? I’m not sure if this was left over veg from Christmas or if this is the norm, but it seems the menus identity is a tad lost and could perhaps benefit from being reduced slightly. Service overall wasn’t the best though the main waitress we had was lovely. We found that we were waiting a long time with empty plates on both courses before the plates were cleared, yet the majority of the staff were stood around the front door area leaning and chatting to one another. No check backs were made whilst we were eating, this is a small detail that goes a long way as well as asking if we wanted any more drinks etc. We didn’t fancy sticking around for dessert or more drinks so we got the bill and went to find a bar further down the road. I really am disappointed by this visit as it was a special occasion and our first visit to Monton, but I do feel like these issues can be easily resolved with a bit of staff training and honing in on the steps of service."

I really loved it here. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy but not too busy the vibe was just right. The staff were excellent and so was the service. The food is amazing too.

The staff are all amazing and very attentive to all of your needs they honestly couldn’t do enough for you. The food was exceptional very tasty and...fresh hopefully next time we come in we can get the recipe for the feta triangles. Our experience overall was exceptional well done team , I can’t wait to come in the summer.

visited for the first time last week to midday. I ordered a burger who was the worst burger I served in many a year. in the round it was a broken (as in attacked) brioch bungalow with an unseasoned bark burger, zero chutney. or relish (discover the menu claims that this is included). the chips were strangely staggered as I was annoyed with myself because I didn't drive the extra mile to mcdonalds that would have been a far superior option. I was never asked if the food was accepted by the restaurant was not wanting to make a large amount of their bad food. just not back!

la turka came well recommended and led to our party of some people visiting on a Saturday night. entertaining in the form of vocal and dance was included in the eating experience, but it was absolutely ohr splintered and made any entertainment between us...absolutely impossible, ceiling support loudspeakers did not affect any dependency on their effects. la turkas eating and service was excellent, but they really need to monitor the music levels, despite a courtesy question to lower the levels that it just became louder when the night came forward. it was nice to sit by a loudspeaker in glastonbury, three pairs within our party decided to go early because it is. please kill la turka it down,...

went as group booking and party of a Saturday night so expected that it was busy and it was. hey! a great night had from all. friends traveled from far and wide for a social meeting and all said they enjoyed the...seven, eat and service. even if it was “crazed” and “crazed”, the employees were most attentive. the eating fab, the easy booking and pre-ordering of mealtimes when they a “family or celebrity event” a brise. the extra to entertainment, especially at a weekend a tasty. albeit on the louder side....especially gave the mozen a night to remember! celebrate milestones and birthdays. so a massive thumb on youngs and gals and thanks again for an unforgettable night. in the same weight we...

I booked this for my mother's birthday and when we arrived, it was nice, great atmosphere and placed on a table to order drinks. when we sat for our meal, our menus were forgotten, but that was the least of my care. when we ordered the livesänger, he was founded. I didn't realize they had a live singer, but okay, that's great I'm all for it. but when the singer started talking about loud! I'm so not wrong, I love some live music and happy to let some melodies play while I eat, but if they can't hear their waiters I think there's a problem. my waiter couldn't hear us and I couldn't hear them. I persisted trying to enjoy the music, but it was that according to I really couldn't hear my mother...

my friend and I have visited la turka a few times in the last month or so, according to my opinion, it is the best restaurant in monton! the personal is always so friendly and smiling, and the service is consistently fast and efficient, even if it is busy, the food and drinks come fast (but not too fast, just the right time to have a chat in advance).) the atmosphere in the restaurant is very lively, with good melodies. we sat outside before the last time, and it was very peaceful sitting there on an evening, watching people. the facility in restaurant is beautiful, there is much to see. the time before the last, we were not so hungry, so just ordered a few tapas dishes each. my friend order...

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
