very tasty steak and ale pee with a medley sweet. burger was disappointing. maybe they buy burgers from this great butcher shop just a few doors away? very pleasant and attentive staff.

The food and service at this restaurant are incredible, set in a cozy atmosphere. The quality of the food is top-notch, but the prices are comparable to what you'd find at a pub. If I lived closer, I would definitely dine here every day.

We are working for the summer at the nearby heritage railway. It was our 25 wedding anniversary and only had time for a short break to France this year. Le Mistral served great French style food we were missing and the service was excellent. We will be back again. Speisekarte ansehen

Very cosy attractive dining areas with superb service. Food was excellent for 2 members of our party but third not quite as pleased. Deserts and coffee very good. Enjoyed eating here very much. Did not give 5* as slightly expensive (but may be prices for this area- first evening here). Would recommend.

we were here yesterday and it was brilliant. we had the pork and lamb, and it was some of the most tasty food I ever had, service was great and everyone was really friendly. also one of the employees recommended to go into the spring-star bar, which is part of the red lions hotel. I recommend this restaurant

Went with friends, have been many times before, good food, at a reasonable price, good service BUT how it has changed very very long wait for food, when it came bland boring, my wifes tuna completely overcooked, poor service, asked for bill, waitress despite not doing anything other than chatting to a customer at the bar ignored us, had to go to bar to pay, first time in years i did not leave a tip, will never return Speisekarte ansehen

A few weeks ago, we went to this restaurant for a quick lunch. We ordered paté and a soup. Despite there only being 2 other customers, it took 45 minutes for our simple order to arrive. The paté came with a small portion of bread and the soup was mediocre at best. Both dishes were not worth the price. We were willing to give the restaurant another chance, but unfortunately, our experience did not improve. This level of service is unacceptable. What a disappointment.

beautiful French restaurant in wirksworth with hidden space in the ground floor with feenlight and much brick to feel warm and welcoming. the personal is friendly and efficient. eating is delicious and what I think as "real eating" with real fresh ingredients. there are also good vegetarian options that are not for French cuisine. the personal is very helpful when they have allergies. the space in the ground floor is only accessible by stairs and includes the toilet room. I think the ground floor could take a wheelchair.

Absolutely loved both our visits, lunch and then dinner the following evening. Fabulous menu including for vegetarians. Light lunch of omelette, salad and frites was beautifully cooked and presented and tasted amazing. Fantastic value. Dinner was, for us ,3 courses all again full of flavour, piping hot and delicious. The beetroot and goats cheese tart was amazing and the creme burley one of the best I've had, including in France! House wine was reasonably priced and lovely.
