"Highly recommended for a simple country restaurant This is the sort of unpretentious but characterful restaurant serving high quality if simple food you expect but increasingly fail to find as you travel through the back roads of France. We were racing to find one of our favourite if simple restaurants in Salin-de-Giraud for lunch and having taken a turning (mistakenly) we passed this restaurant at Albaron just after 1.30pm and quickly applied the brakes as we saw the many cars parked outside what seemed a deserted rustic restaurant. Inside was a warm bustling restaurant decked out in a rich red decor with simple but comfortable seating. We sat in the small first room whilst there was a much larger room beyond and a more intimate room leading off to the side. Note you have to like watching men being chased by bulls in the streets of France as they had two televisions in our dining room continuously showing this. This is a on a minor road that goes nowhere so you only find it if you know about it. We were the only non French in the packed restaurant. I believe I will be the first non-french to review thee restaurant in TripAdvisor. Our Fish soup was amazing in presentation, flavour and taste. It was wonderfully welcome on a cold overcast February lunchtime. My wife went for a Entrecote Steak as it was available medium cooked, but I went for a deliciously juicy Taureau steak cooked saignant (rare) as they only cook this bull steak bleu (raw) or saignant. Both the Entrecote and the Taureau come from local beef and were delicious. I had a nougat ice-cream dessert which nicely rounded off the meal with coffee. It also serves a wide range of pizzas (its speciality) but if you like a good steak go for it.. The local Cote de Rhone wine was very good especially at 18Euro a bottle. The sole waitress seemed for most of the time to be serving the whole restaurant at amazing speed adding to the animated atmosphere. Simple cuisine in a charming restaurant at a very reasonable price."

Unpretentious place serving way beyond succulent traditional fare. Known for i pizzas cooked on wood fire, it also offers quite an array of other dish. Lovely, intimate.

Dishes worth of an étoilé place, legumes very, very fresh, tonight the guardiane was particularly excellent. Nice efficient service with a smile. A must stop by when in the area. Nice local colors for the decoration, a nice breeze on the patio even these days as temperature are way over typical temperature.

Started with a stuffed and baked camembert which was grilled over the coals and served hot like a fondue. Excellent starter. Then enjoyed 3 bull beef stews and a grilled salmon entrée. The stew was melt in your mouth tender and the salmon was perfectly cooked. Fun place for a meal. Not in the least bit touristy which we liked. Reasonable price for the four of us-92 Euro.

We stopped there by 'accident ' with my better half while on the road in petite camargue. We figured this could be decent food and fairly priced so we stopped and we were not disspointed. the setting has nothing to do with romamtism or fine cuisine and its a bit 'rustic ' but its actually fine in the decor and fits very well with the local atmosphere and the food was just so good. the duck, the salads etc.

Staying in a b b we struggled to find somewhere for dinner in the Camargue in September that was consistently open thankfully this place was (except Tuesdays . The decor is cosy, the staff friendly, if a bit stretched at times. We were on a budget, so we ordered from the bottom end of the menu (pizza/pasta @c.12€ . Ok, but nothing special. The steaks we saw passing with waitresses looked amazing, but for c.20€ not for us. There are tvs everywhere showing French bullfighting clips, it's a talking point but you zone it out after a while! We went here 3 times in all, and enjoyed it.

We found this restaurant by chance whilst looking for a good lunch in the Camargue. It was quite late, after 13.30 when we phoned for a table for 3. We'd just tried to take a table in a restaurant nearby, only to be informed by the owner that at that time of day, we would have to have the plat du jour, which was too heavy for a hot day. We used the Maps app to find the Le Resto du Paty it is in a quiet location with tables on the terrace inside. We received a warm welcome. The restaurant is run by a family who claim to serve simple food done well. I think that they underrate themselves, we had a superb lunch. A friend I shared their delicious main course salad as a starter, consisting of Bur...

"This restaurant is part of a hotel in a very impressive 16th century building. It looks very classy. However, the night we were there, there must have been some serious problems in the kitchen (or maybe it is always like that . We started with a shared plate of charcuterie which took a long time to arrive – how long does it take to arrange the cold meats on a plate? We then waited a very, very long time for our main courses. While waiting, we saw a dispute at another table involving the maître d’ and resulting in plates going back to the kitchen. We had both ordered duck à l’orange which came with Camargue rice. The rice appeared to have been baked in the oven and was so crisp and dry that it resembled a cereal bar. The ‘orange’ was not the usual sauce, but instead was four cubes of orange that appeared to have been scorched on a grill. They added nothing to the dish. It had been suggested that we should share a side of seasonal vegetables. These turned out to be big chunks of boiled potatoes (with rice! , a boiled root vegetable and a couple of dry artichokes. We had interchanges with two servers and the maître d – all were cold and brusque. We lived in France for more than 20 years and appreciate the fact that the French like to take their time with meals, but there is a big difference between leisurely and glacially slow. Perhaps we were there on a bad night, others seem to have had a better experience."
