"Thoroughly Disappointing. Having booked over a month earlier for 7.30pm mid-week, we arrived just before time and were shown to our table. Our drinks order was taken and delivered quickly, but we waited ages for the waitress to take our food order. To our shock,...we were advised that everything we asked for on the menu was no longer available. Looks like they first cater for the large rowdy parties of 15 people or more before they cater for the smaller number of guests sitting at tables. We decided to call it a day when the noise from the large rowdy party was so loud we could no longer hold a conversation. Guests from other tabes started to share looks across the room of dissatisfaction. One lady had her fingers in her ears as she mouthed to her partner its just so loud over there. So, can't rate the food as we didn't get to order any. We informed the owner how we felt, but he showed little concern. He just took our money for the drinks and no apology offered. but we won't be back as this is the 2nd time we have visited this restaurant. We had problems the first time and thought they may be having a bad night."

Great service, good range of menu options. Only comment would be the lighting was a little on the bright side and if more subdued, would have made the ambiance more relaxing and less stark.

we were in the hotel and ate every evening in the restaurant. the selection of food is good, the quality of the food is excellent, and the cook is very helpful for special needs regarding food.

During the lockdown, we frequently utilized the takeout option at this restaurant, which added a dose of brightness to our lives. The food options were excellent and consistently served hot. The service and food quality were top-notch, and we have no complaints. Kudos to the team for their great effort!

We were staying in Lifton and decided to pop in for a drink and something to eat. Not exactly a warm welcome which was surprising as we were the only ones in the place! Decided to have a drink and go. Shame as it looked lovely and had nice places to sit outside. Perhaps we should have given it a second chance but didn’t get round to it.

last Saturday evening we held an dinner for 13 people to celebrate my 70th birthday. it was a really wonderful evening and I cannot praise the staff enough. eating was all delicious, especially the sea roast and pavlowa and there was a good choice of vegetarian options. the service was efficient and friendly and there was no rush for us to leave at the end of the evening. the cost was also very reasonable. many thanks to lifton hall for such a fantastic and unforgettable birthday dinner

Went with husband for a meal and was bowled over. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. My husband had the ham and potato soup and is sure it is the best soup he has ever tasted. I had katsu curry which was homemade and...delicious, my husband had sea bream which was well cooked. For desert my husband had a fabulous cheese board and i had the most glorious homemade pavlova with chewy meringue. We will be going back again as we were so impressed. It will be worth the 1.5hr drive each way from home.

I have eaten my fair share of takeaways in my life, but last Saturday's experience was truly one of the best! The pop-up night featured a Thai-based menu, with deliciously seasoned Chicken Turkey meatballs and a wonderful White fish Thai Green Curry. The noodle and crunchy salad with peanut sauce was fresh and bursting with flavor. The meal also included prawn crackers, spring rolls, and fragrant rice. It was a true feast, perfectly balanced and full of delicate yet spicy flavors. The collection service was well-organized and the food was superb. Kudos to Robert Richard for a job well done!

"Gidleigh Park is a country house located in a wooden wally in Devon. It is quite hard to reach the place on a very narrow road, which is very beautiful, but apparently during the winter larger cars can’t even get there. Gidleigh Park houses a two-Michelin star restaurant with Michael Caines as the main chef (the restaurant was recently voted number 1 restaurant in the UK by the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List 2014). Gidleigh Park also has bedrooms (apparently all individual in style and design) and you can stay there for the night and then wonder in the gardens of the estate, which I saw some people doing when I was there. I was visiting Devon and my boyfriend chose Gidleigh Park for lunch on a Sunday and we took the long and narrow road to Gidleigh Park. The inside of the house was very old and had a lot of charm. It had eclectic art and antiques and different style rooms, the lounge had different tables, chairs and the bar was done up in a completely different style. Gidleigh Park showcased British charm and elegance. You could chose to have their signature sample menu for £140/ person, but instead we went for the much cheaper version, their lunch set menu for £44/ person for 3 courses (you could also have 4 courses for £57). Also note choosing dishes a la carte would set you back £115, so the lunch menu seems like the cheapest way how to enjoy Gidleigh Park. We did not have any wine, but apparently thy have an amazing wine cellar. The three course lunch menu included a small appetizer, a starter and a main course and you could choose from one of the 3 starters and one of the 3 main courses. Our appetizer was “goat’s cheese foam with beetroot jelly, candied walnuts and granny smith apple”, but as my boyfriend does not like goats’ cheese he had a tuna tartar as his appetizer which actually looked better than my appetizer. I was not to"
