"We had booked an afternoon tea at 2pm on a Saturday after hearing great reviews, but unfortunately we were disappointed. It is important to note that the restaurant also functions as a cafe, so there were customers coming in for takeaways or arriving without reservations. Despite booking in advance, they had run out of fruit scones and egg cress sandwiches. We were served cream cheese cucumber, cheese pickle, cheese ham, and ham tomato sandwiches instead, which felt like an overload of cheese. The sandwiches had too much butter, which we had to scrape off. The scone was good, although it was not a fruit scone as we had hoped for. The selection of cakes we could choose from at the counter looked great, but by the time we were served, some options were already gone. It seemed like the staff were struggling to keep up with the demand, as one customer even questioned if they were open due to a closed sign being displayed. In the future, it may be beneficial for the restaurant to ask customers about their preferences when booking, such as the type of scone and sandwiches, and keep those items aside for when they arrive. This way, customers won't be disappointed by missing out on their desired choices. Overall, we believe that on a less busy day, the food and service would have been much more enjoyable."

Had lunch with 2 friends this week, lovely tasty sandwiches with salad and crisps. The cakes are a real speciality here, a fantastic selection and so good! We like the best of both offer where you can have 2 half portions if you want to taste more than one cake. Never disappoints we will be back!

A family of 6, we arrived at 3.30 for a late late lunch and the staff were really accommodating. We had a mix of paninis and sandwiches, generous portions with side salad and crisps added as standard. Cakes are delicious! All in all, lovely establishment, good value and very welcoming if you’re in Deeping! Speisekarte ansehen

I am a regular here with friends and family. They do the best lunches, you order a toastie and get a wholemeal with plentiful salad and crisps and homemade coleslaw, always delicious. The cakes are out of this world , always fresh and look decadent and taste amazing , portion sizes huge ! Always excellent service too … also you have to try their afternoon tea !

Such a warm welcome as soon as we stepped inside. The tea room was decked out in a stunning autumn Halloween theme but with it's vintage tearoom feel. The savory jacket potato with brie and bacon was very lovely , and then the choice of tempting cakes was amazing and the option to have two different smaller slices was perfect. All washed down with a proper cup of tea in a cute teacup. 10/10 for customer experience. Well done

I had a wonderful experience at this cafe. The Alice in Wonderland theme was well-executed and I really enjoyed it. The decor, ambiance, and food were all top-notch. We ordered coffee and toasties which were both delicious. The coffee was flavorful and hot, while the toasties were tasty and satisfying. The menu had a great selection of meals to choose from. The staff was friendly and despite being busy, provided efficient service. Overall, a great cafe to visit. Speisekarte ansehen

Visited around lunchtime on a bank holiday weekend. 4 of us plus one well behaved puppy sat outside in the sunshine. Service provided by 2 very welcoming young girls. Large array of homemade cakes portioned generously. We asked whether they were able to provide some water for the dog and the request was met positively and quickly. The cakes were absolutely delicious we had coffee cake, lemon drizzle and Bakewell tart,3 teas and a latte. Cost was £22. Not cheap but we felt absolutely acceptable for the quality and portion size offered. This really was a hidden treat where we happily whiled away an hour. Highly recommended. Sorry no photos of our chosen cakes we ate them before photographing !...

Tucked away in a hidden alleyway, we stumbled upon this charming tearoom. With a quaint and inviting atmosphere, diners enjoying their meals outside caught our attention. Making our way inside, we were pleased to find a vacant table in this bustling establishment. The decor was unique and whimsical, adding to the overall charm of the place. The menus were creatively printed on strips of flexible plastic and attached to handy boards, sparking conversation among diners. The service was prompt, friendly, and efficient. My wife ordered the Egg Sweetcorn Mayo sandwich, while I opted for the Tuna Mayo, both on white bread. The sandwiches were generously filled and came with a side of salad, colesl...

"The Stag Inn is a delightful looking pub overlooking the small green in the village of Barkston near Grantham. Internally the pub is clean and tidy with a range of two and four seater tables with New England shades of light blue on the painted table legs in the restaurant area. We didn’t venture into the pub side so can’t vouch for the decor in there. We arrived unannounced just after opening time of 12 and were offered a table with no difficulty. There was a menu of the usual offerings of fish and chips and a range of burgers together with roast salmon, chargrilled pork chop, a leek and cauliflower cheese pot pie, ham egg and chips and a vegetable lasagne amongst others. A specials chalkboard hung on the far wall and the crab and prawn salad with Mediterranean bread sounded so good we both opted for it. That was a mistake as we were to find out. The meals were reasonably quick to arrive and were served up in two large bowls with a dusting of paprika round the edges. What hit me immediately was the large flaccid green lettuce leaf draped over the edge of the bowl, together with a whole half-a-lemon that we each had. A small wedge would be perfect. The bread tasted sweet and was as far from the Mediterranean as it could possibly be apart from the occasional input of sundried tomato. What irked me most though was that the bread was delivered up pre-buttered with what looked like some bright yellow catering spread. A small ramakin of real butter between the two of us would work so much better. When asked if everything was okay I mentioned this and was told that chef would be informed. Having said all that the crab and prawn salad was full of flavour and sat on a nice mixed salad of red peppers, lettuce, red onion and cornichons. A word of advice to the wise….. don’t sit at the table near the restaurant counter as this is where the pub’s phone is located. On at least two occasions the phone was left to ring unanswered by the staff, presumably as they were busy elsewhere (the pub was by no means full) and was right behind my head! The volume of the ringer was high and it would have been a more pleasant experience for us if, firstly, it was answered and, secondly, the volume was turned down. On the plus side the staff were polite and helpful but the food not so great."
