Lovely coffee breakfast for us. Had to catch a bus and they were very helpful getting our food sped through. Great place to eat. Thanks.

Called in for a coffee and cake, my husband wanted a bowl of chips, and we were unable to order as we were not allowed to order only sides off the menu!! Also first seat we got seated at smelt of dog urine !

moved to Ammanford in February and having 'days out ' discovering the whole area. Called in for a coffee but decided to have lunch as well. We arranged for a few friends to get together for a stag do and booked the upstairs function room which was a great comfortable space for 12 of us. From the word go the welcome was fantastic, the food and service was second to none and we had a fabulous time! I cannot recommend The Loaf enough as the warm and friendly staff set in great surroundings really made a great night! I will definitely be going back! Thank you!!

I visited this restaurant two days in a row because my hotel was not serving breakfast. This place was a welcoming oasis. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was great with many locals, the food was delicious and arrived promptly, the coffee was decent, and the tray bakes were tasty for takeout. We felt very welcome and by the second day, we felt like we were a part of the local community. I highly recommend this place.

I have worked up the road for 23 years and have never really heard about this place, so I popped in to see one of my favorite work colleagues. I found a seat and ordered two coffees, which were very nice and served by a well-mannered and pleasant waitress named Cassie. I started to get full around 1pm, so I suggest arriving by 12pm. I'm not sure if they take bookings. I didn't realize they served food until I saw someone order the Sausage and Mash, which looked nice. We stopped in Ystradgynlais by chance whilst on our way to visit a friend on holiday. Parking was easy and we spent a very happy time wandering about the main street and buying some very reasonably priced plants. As it was lunchtime, we asked some locals where they would recommend for lunch and they gave us 2 locations; the first we came to was Loaf Kitchen Bar. It was obviously popular with locals always a good sign but we found a table and staff served us quickly with hot drinks. We were not diappointed when our meals arrived they were hot, tasty and very good portions. We would have no hesitation in returning and when we met up with our friend, she confirmed that Loaf was one of her regul...

I have been to many restaurants and bars in Ystradgynlais, but The Loaf is definitely the best in town. The food is fantastic with a great selection of draught beers and cocktails. The service is outstanding, the staff are friendly and helpful. I first visited in December last year and had the Giant Breakfast with a caramel mocha, which was the best breakfast and coffee I've ever had. The second time I went was for a quiz night, where I had draught Guinness and tapas - the tapas were beautiful, especially the meatballs. This was my second time visiting, and this time I took my children. The waitress was quick to see to us when we arrived and take our drinks order, that came in no time. I ordered myself a toastie 2 Childrens meals , after 40 minutes I asked where the order was, a waitress chased it up told us another 10 mins. By this time my young children were becoming restless and bored, we waited another 10 minutes and then decided we would leave. Fortunately they advised the food was ready and that they would box it up for us. It was really disappointing , there were a few complaints while we were there, long waits for food etc. the waitress were busy and polite, but I’ve no idea what the chef kitchen st...
