"Organised a surprise birthday lunch and Truffles were very accommodating in arranging to reserve a large table as well as offering us a couple of child friendly meals too. We were not only the first to arrive at the restaurant but the last to leave and were made to feel welcome throughout the whole meal. We enjoyed three courses of some of the tastiest food I’ve had in a long time. The kitchen staff are extremely talented in their menus. The hosting staff were attentive without being intrusive and all of us would definitely recommend and return again. Loved it! #greatFood #fareham #eatOut"

The price per person was in the range of £30 to £40, which I found quite reasonable considering the quality of the meal. **Food:** 5/5 The food was absolutely exquisite, showcasing remarkable flavors and presentation. **Service:** 5/5 The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. **Atmosphere:** 5/5 The atmosphere was delightful, creating a perfect setting for a lovely dinner. "Worst fish and chips for years. Ordered 3 cod plus 1 haddock and 2 large chips. 1 cod badly overcooked with batter burned and fish nearly solid. Other 2 cod slightly overcooked. Haddock perfect. Chips were badly overdone and tasted like oil not changed regularly. 34 Pounds total cost. Very poor and won't be returning. Used to be excellent now disgusting."

"I was not too impressed with the order that I had from this chip shop. The cost being the major factor of my low review. I understand that right now in the UK, prices have gone up and therefore cost of takeaways need to go up aswell in order to make some money from their sales. But, the cost of £33.50 for a large portion of chips, 2 bits of fish, and 1 battered sausage in my opinion is simply too expensive. Which also worsened my experience, was for a large portion (which states for 3 people), it could probably do only about 2 people if that. I will say however, the staff were very friendly, and the food itself was actually pretty good. The chips were well cooked, as was the fish. Regardless of the good points mentioned, I do not currently recommend this fish and chip shop due to the cost and portion sizes. If they were to increase the portion size, and reduce the cost (even by a slight amount), my review would change."

"Well, I like reviewing and have to say having visited Mother Kelly 's many times since 2008 last night was 'poor ', now.... Maybe it was because we booked for 19:30 after watching a film at the nearby Port Solent, which had plenty of options to dine, but we thought no Mother Kelly 's on way home be just dandy. WRONG... Arrived bang in 19:30 place was ghost town with 3 other tables occupied, two eating one waiting for service, we entered were shown a table in the window (table 4) and chose our food from the menus, (my partner wanted scampi as usual, but a sign on the counter said Sorry NO scampi) do she chose Steak and Ale Pie, after about 10 minutes the solitary waitress came to our table to take our order on a tablet... We ordered asking for the Pie... to be told NO Pies left, So rethink, ahh Fish bites then abd a large Cod and trimmings, thank you, by this time Just us and one other table of patrons remained.... After about 10-15 minutes the food arrived, the fish bites well batter bites with fish is more apt a discription, my fish was okay, but was triple batter.... Obviously end if night for them, nothing in booking to say service stops at 8pm I had the choice of many later times when I booked on The Fork.... Disappointed and much like the Country you actually come to expect the disappointment received..... I have other bookings over the next Month with The Fork.. hopefully those restaurants are better stocked and the food is 'nicer '.... I really hate giving poor reviews but you put your head aboveground and you 'll possibly get shot"
