Excellent! We went there to celebrate three birthdays with 12 guests. We were welcomed warmly and fast, taken to our beautiful table and quickly brought a fantastic selection of drinks. The food was excellent and perfect. Everyone admired their plates. The staff were absolutely phenomenal

Fabulous night ! Booked meal with friends who travelled from Manchester. We’ve had a couple of meals here and it never disappoints. The restaurant and bar are run by the nicest and most helpful staff and the food is delicious. We will be returning and we most definitely recommend! On a helpful note , probably best to book a table as always very busy !

We find the restaurant is so HIT and MISS that we wonder why we keep on returning. On our most recent visit, the menu was limited and the only dish that appealed was fish and chips! We were somewhat amazed by how much prices have generally risen whilst the quality of the food has decreased . I booked for 10 at 7 on a Sunday but was moved to 7.30 to suit the restaurant. When we arrived we were told that we had 10 minutes to order or would not be served. Service throughout was rude and dismissive and we could hear the staff at the bar complaining about customers. The clear impression was that they were desperate to go home and resented the presence of customers requiring them to work. Although the food was reasonably nice we were not able to enjoy it because of the atmosphere.

Called in for Sunday lunch without a booking. Although the restaurant was busy, this did not seem to present a problem. Staff were friendly and attentive. There was a good range of food on the menu. We chose a fairly traditional beef and pork roast meal. The food, when it arrived, was excellent. The surroundings were very good. We moved outside to the garden area for coffee following the meal again, excellent nice view over fields and a large pond. Sat watching fish rise. Well worth a visit. .

We love this pub, we live within walking distance, but had a disappointing experience for Sunday lunch. We were shown to our table by a guy from the bar, young guy. Then we didn't get any service for 15 minutes while we wanted to order food and drink so I ordered myself from the bar. The bar manager apologized for this. We had our starters (nice) but when the server, a young woman cleared our plates, she didn't ask if we needed another drink so I was back to the bar again to order my own drinks while my main course was going cold, really poor service. Wow wow wow. We are in wales visiting this weekend and did a Google search for independent restaurants near Wrexham and somewhere down the list was this Gem!!!! Why on earth it’s not number one on the list I’ll never know. From the minute we walked in we were greeted and allowed to pick a table outside if one was available. The staff are all amazing at their job, welcoming, knowledgable and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. There were four of us and we had the lamb ragu, beef and mushroom pie and the cheese and potato pie. We had some lovely sides too. Menu was l great with plenty to choose from. Went for our 12 years old granddaughter,s birthday there were 7 of us altogether. It was extremely busy as it is most times we have been which is a good sign, unfortunately this impacted on our meal immensely. We initially had to wait a good 15 minutes for our drinks, we then have to wait a further 15 minutes for a meal order to be taken. And then after this we waited over an hour and 15 minutes for our meal. When the meal did arrive, it came in dribs and drabs, so some of our table had their meals whilst others didn’t we had to ask for vinegar and mint sauce which was particularly irritating as two of us had lamb, which took a further five minutes. Haven’t visited this place for a long while and unfortunately after our experience I won’t be rushing to return. Such a shame as previously had really good times here. We arrived and the staff on the bar were to be fair very helpful and saw to us straight away, we informed them we had a table booked and she took us straight through, telling us we could place an order for drinks at the table and that it would be table service. They didn’t actually come to take our drinks order for over 20 minutes. Finally took our drink order and then had another 25 minute wait until the drinks arrived!
