"Booked lunch here after hearing great things about this place from friends. I wasn't disappointed! Located in a sunny corner of the west end Piccolino offers first class dishes, beautifully cooked using genuine fresh ingredients. The portions are generous to say the least and everything we ordered was top notch. What sets this restaurant aside and gives it a definite edge on its competitors is the really excellent service of its staff. We were served by Lorenzo and Alessandra who were probably the most professional and friendly waiters I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. We also tried Piccolino's take away Panzerotti fried pizza dough filled with mozzarella and tomato) which were delicious. Looking for quality food with great service? Piccolino should be on your list of places to eat in Edinburgh!"

We were staying in an Airbnb in Leith and were too tired to go out. So we ordered from Piccolino through Uber Eats. We got Penne Amatriciana, Paccheri Al Ragu Di Cervo and garlic bread. Very tasty! Would definitely recommend!!

I returned to Picolino and it was just as good as always. We started with the amazing Cozze a Piacere mussels, followed by the equally delicious Mixed seafood Frittura Mista. This restaurant was the highlight of our trip to Edinburgh, with great food and wonderful service.

My husband, 5-year-old son, and I all enjoyed our meals at this restaurant. My son especially loved the pasta and even asked for another serving. We tried the Polette as a starter and the Melanise for our main dishes, both of which were delicious. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Made reservation months ago thru OpenTable. Advised 1 vegetarian/1 gluten free. Arrived and found they had a special limited menu tonight without any gluten free items no regular menu. Surprised they had not notified us. Very disappointed. Left and found a lovely Italian restaurant only block away that squeezed us in and was delicious L’Artigiano.

We had a fantastic meal, food was absolutely delicious we thoroughly enjoyed every bite and the portions were extremely generous. Our small dog was made to feel very welcome by the lovely attentive staff. The restaurant itself is very nice, every table full within a cosy setting. It was our first visit but certainly won’t be our last and we will be sure to recommend.

We stumbled upon a true gem! This family-owned Italian restaurant was a delightful find. The staff were welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in our dining experience. The food was superb. As a lover of seafood, I thoroughly enjoyed the top-notch quality, generous portions, and variety in my linguini frutti di mare. I highly recommend this restaurant, which is conveniently located near all the attractions of Edinburgh.

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
