"3.5 stars The pasta is the star. Friendly prompt service in a small, casual dining area. The salumi plate was fine. My boys devoured most of the meat before I could taste any of it, but the salami and cheese pieces I tasted were delicately delicious. The olives were nice, but the toast pieces were a bit uninspiring. My rocket and Parmesan salad was delicious. The parm was pretty good quality, and the greens were fresh, tossed with a good balsamic. A very nice salad course. I ordered Spaghetti Vongole and it was spectacular. The pasta was a perfect al dente and the sauce had an incredible balance of sweet, tangy, spicy flavors. The clams were petite with a mild flavor that paired well with the sauce. My only real complaint, and the reason I don't feel good about giving a 4 star review, was that my bowl had 4 clams that didn't open. That's a sign of bad clams (hey it happens). My feedback to the chef would be to inspect the clams before you serve them. I can forgive a single unopened clam, but 4 clams when the dish had maybe 16 to begin with? Just don't serve it, if you wouldn't eat it. They do have a children's menu with a few options. Kids loved their spaghetti and the calamari entrees. Wine list was modest but well curated. My wife thought the salmon was a bit over seasoned. Cooked perfectly, but just too salty. Otherwise, I highly recommend the pasta at this place. 3.5 stars"

We were staying in an Airbnb in Leith and were too tired to go out. So we ordered from Piccolino through Uber Eats. We got Penne Amatriciana, Paccheri Al Ragu Di Cervo and garlic bread. Very tasty! Would definitely recommend!!

My husband, 5-year-old son, and I all enjoyed our meals at this restaurant. My son especially loved the pasta and even asked for another serving. We tried the Polette as a starter and the Melanise for our main dishes, both of which were delicious. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Made reservation months ago thru OpenTable. Advised 1 vegetarian/1 gluten free. Arrived and found they had a special limited menu tonight without any gluten free items no regular menu. We stumbled upon a true gem! This family-owned Italian restaurant was a delightful find. The staff were welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in our dining experience. The food was superb. As a lover of seafood, I thoroughly enjoyed the top-notch quality, generous portions, and variety in my linguini frutti di mare. I highly recommend this restaurant, which is conveniently located near all the attractions of Edinburgh.

Located in a sunny corner of the west end Piccolino offers first class dishes, beautifully cooked using genuine fresh ingredients. The portions are generous to say the least and everything we ordered was top notch. What sets this restaurant aside and gives it a definite edge on its competitors is the really excellent service of its staff. We were served by Lorenzo and Alessandra who were probably the most professional and friendly waiters I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.
