I came to poonthai a few times in the week to get a quick and easy lunch. the personal was friendly and welcoming and always a smile on my face.

Very nice takeaway from Poonthais while staying in North Berwick. Plenty of places to get a drink whilst waiting too. Good food at a reasonable price.

We walked in off the street. Surprisingly cute little business. Restaurant decor is a bit dated along with the piano instrumental music, but don’t let it put you off. Good service. Very tasty Thai food (coming from a family that has frequently visited Thailand). Well priced. Enjoyed our meal.

I typically refrain from writing negative reviews, but after returning home from a three-week trip to England and Scotland, I must say that our takeout dinner from Poonthai was disappointing. While we enjoyed wonderful food throughout our travels, the Thai food from Poonthai was not up to par.

As soon as I spotted this place on our arrival in North Berwick, I was desperate to try it out. Our kids aren’t fans of Thai food so we opted for a takeaway. It was delicious and I would definitely recommend. I arrived a bit early to order as I didn’t realise they didn’t open until 6 but they were still happy to serve me and I sat in peace for 20 mins waiting for the food to be made. It was well worth the wait, and reasonably priced too.

I arrived at 8pm without a reservation and was given a table in the garden area, which was lovely. After ordering drinks, 40 minutes passed with no food or staff in sight. Only a few tables were occupied and none had received their food. When I complained, I was told they were busy. When the food finally arrived, the two Pad Thais were cold. It was a disappointing waste of time and money. It seems like their takeout service is prioritized over seated customers. I would recommend avoiding this place.
