Ravello - Speisekarte

The food was poor low way below par, the environment was awful they were electric heaters scattered all over the restaurant. When we walked in the smell of damp hit you, I wanted to leave but we decided not to take it at face value – bad mistake!

The staff at this restaurant were absolutely incredible - so friendly and attentive. The food was also exceptional, with fresh and delectable flavors. We were even treated to Limoncello imported from Italy. Overall, our experience was fantastic and we can't wait for our next visit.

Had an excellent dinner here on Saturday night, it's run by an Italian family who looked after us like we were their own offspring. Authentic dishes, prepared off menu in some cases, with an informal atmosphere and all well priced. If you want prescribed plastic faux Italian food tailored to English tastes- this won't be for you. If you know your Italian cuisine you'll like it!

Ravello, which has been owned by the same family for many years, has been a favorite of mine since 1980. The food has always been consistently delicious. However, when I drove past last week, I noticed that it was boarded up and closed. I can only assume that the owners have retired. It's a shame that I won't be able to enjoy their meals anymore. I want to thank Gaby and Marisa for the many wonderful meals they provided over the years.

Ok. Where to start. This was a bad decision. I sat down, then put my coat back on to leave, but unfortunately I stayed. I will not return and can not recommend this restaurant. Therefore I do not think on this occasion you need all the details, but in brief it is tired, no atmosphere, food was varied, just go somewhere else. It's mean really because i assume this is someone's livelihood- but surely if this is the case you would try harder.

Unfortunately we do not agree with so many of the reviews. My husband had the mixed sea food to start with but it could have come out of a jar. I had the avocado salad which was delicious. We then both had the clam and mussels with pasta. This dish was not of good flavour. The clams and mussels were not in shells but mixed in with the sauce, but we could not detect any mussels. The dining room could really do with an update, there is a damp sort of smell too.

My partner and I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant about a month ago. We struck up a conversation with the owner about our recent road trip around Italy, and we enjoyed reminiscing about our travels so much that we invited him to join us for drinks after our meal. The food was delicious and satisfying, and we look forward to returning in the future. We also plan on visiting their stall at Whitecross market. Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant.

My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast and had fallen in love with the town of Ravello, so when we saw this restaurant we knew we had to go in! So pleased we did, it is a little gem of a place. The owners are lovely, proper Italian hospitality, and thanks to them this place has character by the bucket load!! There is nothing pretentious here, no glossy cover, just a lovely little authentic place, with good food and which transported us back to Italy. If you want a glossy restaurant then perhaps it is not for you, but if you want a restaurant with heart, character and authenticity then definitely come here!! Fabulous place with the most lovely owners!

There is nothing in the least bit 'modern ' about Ravello. The restaurant has been in this location for a long time and the family who own it are very much in charge in the traditional Italian manner. The ambience may feel a little dated but you could equally say it is authentic. And the same goes for the food: Italian classics, well cooked and presented, without particular flair or fanfare and certainly not fancy, but flavoursome and satisfying. I ate fresh grilled asparagus with parmesan shavings and melted butter really fine and a large fillet of sea bass on a bed of lentils with parmesan mash and a side order of spinach.
