We have been to other Bhel Poori resturants in this area but the first time here. The place is a bit grubby the table was sticky. We opted for the buffet which was well below average. The curry s were watery with no real taste and the selection poor.

The staff is extremely rude. They don’t have manners to serve or be welcoming. Food is below average. To say the least, never ever go to the restaurant. It’s a restaurant given an Indian name by a bunch of Bangladeshis, who don’t know how to cook Indian food.

This restaurant came highly recommended by my brother who has been eating here since he moved to London 30+ years ago and it didn’t disappoint. Friendly staff serving lovely vegetarian curries in a no fuss style restaurant ticked all our boxes. Would recommend and will definitely come again.

We went for lunch during the week. The food was delicious and reasonably priced - three starters and mains cost £44.00. The restaurant has a simple atmosphere, but our only issue was the negative attitude from one of the waiters. We were accompanied by an Indian friend who helped explain the dishes. We plan on returning soon.

Used to visit this restaurant regularly but moved out the area and on returning today and recommending it to a friend who also visited for the first time was shocked at the poor and negative service by floor staff one of who gave my friend evil looks making him uncomfortable and unable to eat his meal. Won’t be going back under this management.

Even though this restaurant has an Indian-sounding name, it is actually run by Bangladeshis, resulting in food that does not taste anything like authentic Indian cuisine. The chefs seem to lack proper training, as the food was unappetizing in terms of flavor. The quality of oil used to cook the food was also poor, giving off a reused taste. It is best to steer clear of this restaurant at all costs.

Looks good from the outside, old fashioned and charming on the inside. But all goes downhill as soon as you set foot inside. The only words uttered to me by a non-smiling waiter were “Two?”, followed by a pointed finger and “Window”. So, we sat in the window. The next waiter took the order without writing it down and assured us he would remember it correctly. He didn’t. He forgot the rice and ordered a garlic naan (not requested). The starters were OK to excellent (for the onion bhajee) but the mains were bland. At best, the meal was only OK. Have been coming to the Ravi Shankar restaurant for some years, mainly for their lunch buffet which is back after an absence of a few years due to the pandemic. They provide the lunch buffet three days a week, Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 12 noon and 3pm (until 4 or 5pm at the weekend). It generally has 3 curries each lunchtime, rice, vegetable soup, mini dosas, nan bread and starters such as samosas and other snacks. My long awaited visit to Ravishankar restaurant on Drummond Street in London with my family turned out to be disappointing. The restaurant was empty on a Monday afternoon, and the sole waiter 's rudeness and lack of hospitality ruined our dining experience.
