"I don't normally do reviews but I wanted to share how amazing this place is! We found this little gem whilst being housed in a hotel mid moving home. I phoned up prior to booking to see if they allowed dogs and that we had a very anxious dog with us to see if they could help. They accommodated us amazingly! The hospitality was outstanding and the food was so delicious! We live about half hour away and will definitely make the journey to be here again. Thanks again for looking after us so well. "My wife and I ate here on a Sunday night, and were really impressed with what we found. It is a wine bar, which serves a reasonably extensive snack menu. Think of it like a French tapas kind of idea, with a number of small plates on offer to eat whilst sampling the many wines, rather than a traditional restaurant serving starters and mains. We ate the wild garlic pesto tartiflette, which was delicious, and also had a charcuterie board, with generous portions of iberico ham, parma ham and cooked ham, together with bread and chutney, which was equally delicious. The other plate we ordered was a prawn and avocado salad in a balsamic vinegar dressing. This too was really tasty and was a generous size. It being a wine bar, there are numerous wines on offer, but what we chose to do was the wine flight, where you each get three small glasses, each of a different wine. I chose the Bordeaux flight and my wife chose the Rioja flight. For about £15 each, we thought it was good value and enabled us to try six different wines for a reasonable price, all of which complemented the food perfectly. There are also both white and sparkling flights available, as well as a good wine list, most of which were very reasonably priced. The restaurant/bar itself is relatively small, and reminded me of a cosy ski lodge, with wood panels on the wall and nice bench seats. The atmosphere was very nice, and the service was excellent. All in all, it was a lovely evening and we really enjoyed our visit and would have no hesitation returning if we are ever in the area again."

"We visited this pub specifically for its location and connections to the television show Midsomer Murders. It is a charming pub in a fantastic location. The young staff who served us were delightful. Two members of our group enjoyed a delicious roast chicken lunch. However, my wife ordered what was listed on the menu as a Vegetarian Tartlet. What was brought to our table was a large Yorkshire pudding, a parsnip, and a couple of roast potatoes. Believing there may have been a mistake and the tartlet was hidden beneath the Yorkshire pudding, we lifted it to find six small, dried-up button mushrooms. We called over the manager to ask about the missing tartlet, and after consulting with the kitchen, he rather bluntly informed us that was the vegetarian option. We asked for it to be removed from the bill. My roast lamb was served lukewarm and the side vegetables were sparse and also lukewarm. The cauliflower cheese was hot but not enough for four people. While we felt the food was reasonably priced, the Vegetarian Tartlet was a disappointment. It seemed more like something DCI Barnaby should investigate under the trades descriptions act, as it was definitely not what was advertised."

"I am truly impressed by this restaurant. The shellfish dishes were the best I have ever had, and I have dined at restaurants all around the globe. If you have not been here before, you must give it a try. The service, atmosphere, and food were all top-notch. I highly recommend trying the Mussels in Garlic and Lemon and the Popcorn Cockles. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. Price per person is around £70–80 for dinner."
